Just how does the computer adjust timing to prevent pre-ignition...?? Advance it... NO. R e t a r d it... NO. Enrich the mixture... Possible.Re: Some battery temperature data during high amp rechargeA 1000W MSW inverter Connected to, powered by, the engine starting battery, ONLY with the engine running, powering the onboard controlled charge converter will allowing deep cycle batteries to be charged without boiling the electrolyte.Re: Looking at new a/c units, recommendations?Check that the evaporator for non-blockage of airflow.Re: A/C on generator questionThose A/C's will draw about 10 amps each with the compressor running. Startup of the compressor will require as much as 25 amps, >30 amps for a short off cycle restart of the compressor. You genset likely can not support starting, restarting both compressors roughly simultaneously.Re: Invisibrake not charging tow vehicle. With the tail lights on that level of current flow might be enough to drop the voltage enough to prevent adequately charging the battery. LED tail light bulbs..? 300W DC-AC converter(***) with an inexpensive battery charger. *** works down to 10.5 volts..Re: Four Six Volts with 300w of Solar?Rain on this parade... It is NEVER a good idea to parallel connect any battery set, moreso high current flow sets. A single cell shorts can have an EXPLOSIVE result. Catalyst type heaters burn OXYGEN! Relatively small, well insulated space... You might not wake up the next morning.Re: Cooling Issues in my stealth camper allcool wrote: roadnurse wrote: Hi everyone. I'm going off the grid as a travel nurse, and I have just purchased a 12 * 6 toy hauler. It comes with a portable AC, which the guy I'm buying it from says works very well at night but struggles in the full sun. Is your portable a/c a single hose or a dual hose..? Dual hose is definitely more efficient but in the end it matters not. ~1000 watts with compressor running, not sustainable....Re: Cooling Issues in my stealth camperGood idea, but use bottles of frozen water, or even better bottles of CHILLED(<30F) brine (salt water). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITtlxjvLQisRe: Air Conditioner "click"Compressor motor is slow starting so motor winding overheat CB is tripping out/reseting. Almost always happens with non-use for long periods or short-cycling, turning off/on quickly, trying to restart the motor with refrigerant head pressure already elevated.Re: 3 stage charger for true deep cycle battery (Trojan T-1275) DBJoe996 wrote: What's your time worth? Spending hours checking your battery, load testing and voltage checking, recharging, etc. Generally automotive batteries do not recover well from deep cycling. What's your peace of mind worth? Coming out from a long work day and not being able to start up and drive home totally sucks. Or being stranded somewhere. Buy a new battery and rehearse your exit procedures, ie, quit doing stupid stuff. Drive on! Deep Cycling of itself is not the problem, RECOVERY RATE IS. Automotive systems regulate VOLTAGE, they will supply an UNLIMITED rate of current flow which will often result in overheating, boiling off the electrolyte, plate warping often results. Most often a problem in RVs and MHs. Dual 6 volt deep cycle batterys that are often deeply discharged and then recharged with a very ROBUST, HIGH current alternator/VR common to the venue. Often only takes a single outing to destroy a set of 6 volt deep cycle batterys. RV/MH workaround is to use a >400W 12 volt DC to AC inverter to power the onboard converter-charger once underway.
