Decent campground, driving distance to the Flight 93 Memorial and Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water. Going to check this one out for sure. Thank you!Re: Heading to Dearborn MI from South Jersey...have questions..Thanks for the suggestions! Will certainly check into the Flight 93 memorial..those passengers were true heroes, and will also look into the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit. Any more suggestions?? Thanks everyone!Heading to Dearborn MI from South Jersey...have questions..Just beginning to gather info for our upcoming trip to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Mi. We plan on talking it slow and relaxing, and will stop for a nite to hopefully see some sites along the way. We figure to take I76 to I80 and should be in the Pittsburgh to Monroeville area approximately 5+ hours in, so thought we would look for a suitable overnite spot in this area. Any suggestions for either suitable CG or interesting spots to check out? I will certainly Google for ideas but suggestions from this site are always helpful and interesting..thanks.Re: Niagera Falls Tvov wrote: We went about 10 years ago and stayed on the Canadian side at the KOA on Lundy's Lane basically just up the street from Niagara Falls. A city shuttle bus would stop at the entrance to the campground, so it was really easy to visit downtown Niagara without having to drive. I am not sure if anything has changed. Lots to do there. We had dinner at the Skylon Restaurant overlooking the falls, and it was great - both food and views. My son and I visited the power station up river and thought it was neat. They have a short tour, you go down 27 stories to see the generators. X2 for the KOA. My DH and I stayed here about 6 years ago. Typical KOA CG with sites pretty close to one another, though the place was clean and well kept. There is an indoor and outdoor pool available, jumping pillow for the kids, dog park for furry friends, and a nice little cafe/pub on site. Lots of things to do. The city shuttle is very affordable and tickets can be purchased in the CG office. I would say the ride to the Falls was about 25 min, (lots of traffic), but we thoroughly enjoyed it and made some new friends each time on it. I highly recommend the CG.Re: Half-price camping for seniors in Maryland State Parks. jkwilson wrote: What age do they define as senior? They define it as "62 or older". :)Half-price camping for seniors in Maryland State Parks. Not sure if this has been mentioned previously but there is a "Golden Age Pass" available for only $10 to all seniors, regardless of which state you reside in. The pass offers half-price camping from Sunday-Thursday (excluding holidays), and free access to Maryland state parks. I, for one, would like to say a big thank you to Maryland for offering this. This is the link.Rockwood 8289ws owners..We currently have a 30ft TT and I am trying to sway the DH to moving up to a fifth-wheel. We will be hopefully getting more road time this year and I particularly like this floor plan with the rear-living. We already have a Rockwood and have been very happy over its 10 year life. Any pros or cons to offer regarding the 8289? Thanks!Re: Carolinas pull through overnight sites near 95 esyers wrote: The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads in Roanoke Rapids NC New Green Acres in Walterboro, SC All pull thrus and easy on and off 95. X2. We have stayed at the Carolina Crossroads a few times. Was a bit hard to find the first time but was well worth it. Not far at all off I95 but need to drive behind a large hotel entrance through what looks like what was once to be a large commercial area of stores/hotels. Apparently the hotel was built but not much else. The CG was great though!Cherrystone Campground sustains damage!Even though one of our favorite campgrounds...Cherrystone Campground which sits on the Chesapeake Bay wasn't in the direct path of hurricane Michael it certainly still came across their area with fury. They sustained a lot of downed trees with multiple crushed cabins and loads of debris. The pictures on Facebook show what a mess it made! So thankful that nobody was hurt. Our thoughts are with you and hope you get back to normal soon! When do jets fly at Va. Beach?Heading to Cherrystone CG in Va. but would like to take a ride over the bay bridge/tunnel to watch the jets fly over the Virginia Beach boardwalk on their practice maneuvers. Do they have a schedule they follow, i.e. every Monday and Wednesday or do you just need to be lucky (or unlucky if you see it that way;)) to get to see them? Thanks!
