All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsPhoenix to MarylandSo we are heading out in a few days from Phoenix to Annapolis Maryland. We are planning on staying at campgrounds along RT 40. We have a small travel trailer, 2 kids and a dog. Any recommendations of things to do or campgrounds to stay at? Anyplace we MUST eat at? I dont want to drive too far in one day so here is how I broke it up. We will stay a night or two at each site. All input is welcome. It has a couch in that area. Re: Where to put the tv?Here are the back cabinets. You can see the door. This would a great place to mount it. I need to look and see if there is a outlet around there. It is also no where near the antena outlet. Re: Where to put the tv?Anyone have one of the newer Element tv's that Sams Club sells? Looks like decent specs and reviews. They have a 22 with dvd built in for $135. It weighs 10 lbs. On the wall mount, I was having a hard time finding something I have confidence in holding up. Our trailer is really fiberglass outside and cabinets inside. The little wall where the bed and kitchen separate, is not solid. Thats really the only wall. We have cabinets all along the rear of the trailer. Then the bathroom. Then fridge, sink, microwave. Along the opposite wall, there is a couch and a few cabinets above. It's perfect for our small family, but not for a wall mount tv. I know you guys have done some creative stuff.Where to put the tv?Getting ready to head out on a couple week camp. Our trailer a is 18' Chalet Takena. It has a front queen with a bunk overhead. It also has a couch that folds out to a bed along the wall opposite the kitchen. No dinette. The hookup for the antena is on the wall up by the bunk. I'm not sure how good that will work picture wise. The tv will mostly be used for dvd's and xbox. We have very little counter space. I cant seem to find a place to put a mount that would be secure and useable. I'm looking for how creative you guys have gotten and a recomendation on what tv to buy? Can I buy one from walmart or buy one specific for rv's? 18-20 inch or so. We will be using hook ups and not boondocking. ThanksRe: New battery buy adviceLooks like it was new 5/10. 4 years in the AZ heat is good? Cars usually half that. Put it on the trickle charger for a week. 10.4 V was tops.New battery buy adviceJust bought a used small travel trailer and the Interstate battery will not hold a charge. So what is you favorite battery? How many AH should I get? What would be a good price? Is it worth the extra money for sealed or Optima battery? ThanksRe: Redwoods campingCan someone tell me where we can see the redwoods as far east as possible? We still want to see the giants, but am finding a hard time figuring out how far west we have to go to camp and the family to enjoy them. We are coming from Phoenix on the way to Myrtle Beach SC. I think this is one the must see things before we leave the west.Re: Wood Pellet Grills - How Much Do They Smoke?I have a Traeger Pellet grill. I live it. It give a good amount of smoke and is almost impossible to mess up a long slow cook. Pellets are quite different though. I do not like the Traeger brand of pellets. They dont seem to burn as clean as Cookshack pellets. If you get the digital controller, it cant be any easier. I have competed in competitions with stick burners and it's a thousand times harder. One of the best thing about pellet grills is you really cant over smoke the meat. Nothing worse than spending 10 hours on a cook and having over smoked, bitter meat.Re: High Wall Pop-UpsThanks for the info. Differance in gas mileage? Do you feel safer in the elements or just in general?
