In one period when it appeared to be working, I unplugged the router and put my DVM on the connector and got 5.25V. For all I know, it's supposed to be 12V too. I don't know what goes to the PoE for the antenna - I don't have the manual for my Bullet. The manual for the current model of Bullet says up to 24V so I suspect mine is powered by 12V PoE. I wish I could find the durn manual. I never throw out stuff like that. Yes, that's a WFRPod. Open a ticket with WFR. I think they have some that they will send for shipping costs and thats it. They will also include an AC POE for tha sking for the non WFR-Pro Boosts or Ubiquiti gear.Re: Need power module for WiFiRanger joebedford wrote: Sorry I wasn't clear. The 5V goes to the router. It was a combined 5vdc/12vdc unit to power the outdoor Ubiquiti product, and the indoor WiFiRanger Home. DO NOT POWER your WFRhome with anything other than 5vdc. An option would be to power the Hoem with the original wall wart gthat came with it, and then use a POE for the outdoor product. Cabling between the WAN port and the POE LAN port. This is a bit more complex, but doable.Re: WiFi Ranger dshinnick wrote: I discovered the WifiRanger team at an RV rally in Wyoming. I've been a network instructor for 20 years, and was really impressed with their wireless router. It had some creative and desirable features. I got to spend some time with the owner of the company, we became friendly, and he ended up giving me one. Took it home, fired it up...and wasn't impressed. Kept rebooting, as I remember, and just didn't work as advertised. I was looking forward to making it my primary router, but it's sitting in a box. The web site seems very spartan, almost ignored. I keep feeling like the business will just disappear before too long. I would just exercise caution and not put too much money into it. I have a Cradlepoint, and it's super. Reliable, lots of features, receives regular updates. Yea, we remember you. I thought I remember telling you to upgrade to latest firmware, as the one we gave you was a demo and running older firmware, but maybe that got lost in the discussion. If you are pre-665, then definitely upgrade it. The Go/Go2 has 1000mw radios, where as the MBR95 as about a 200mw radio, so WiFi For WAN will be vastly improved with a WFR Go versus a MBR95. Jack Mayer did a side by side of distance a few years ago, and even with the older gear, the MBR 95 got came in last place with marginal, if at all WiFi for WAN performance. Additionally, a WFR can add an external CPE device or secondary router outside for longer range reception if desired.Re: WIfiRanger Support Forum?? joebedford wrote: paulcardoza wrote: Joe --- The WFR Forums are gone. They were taken off the site several weeks ago. Oh, I was afraid that might be the answer. How are we supposed to get support now? Have they gone out of business? No, they are not out of business, quite the opposite. The new support system is here. http://www.wifiranger.com/support/help-desk The old forum is being harvested to provide a better knowledge base for owners. The 6.6.5 update is working very well, with several hundred upgrades in the last few days. Your boost will wok fine with the new firmware. just note the IP address in the setup tab prior to upgrading your indoor unit, and after, be sure to set it to the same IP. The only outdoor devices that need updated are the WFRControl devices, like the Sky and Mobile. You should update those first, then update your indoor unit. They will then auto pair and you are good to go.Re: Cradlepoint vs. wifi ranger rvten wrote: Just updated my WFR. It was working. Turned it off and now NaDa. Has power. Boots up I get five GNR lights than gone. Ant light comes on than us gone. Have GNR lights next to power conn. VZ air card powered up. Sent an e mail with my iPhone to WFR. See what results I get. Something like this happened before. The WFR bricked. They replaced it. Using iPhone as a Hit Spot right now . Hi RVTen, WFR wil replace any unit that fails due to an upgrade. Do you have the original WFR? The black cased one? If so, they will upgrade you to the Go with the replacement, which will give you a bit more power and some better power options. Look for an email response today.
