Haven't posted in a while and forgot how to make clickable.Video I made for winterizingI made a video about how to winterize your travel trailer. Hopefully answer a lot of questions for people looking to do it themselves. Don't be afraid! It's not that difficult! https://youtu.be/a5WDkChY0rIRe: What sheet size? It's a short queen and the bunks can utilize sheets for a double. In both cases you will need to tuck the excess underneath as well as be able to contort yourself in ways you never though possible. It's not easy to make the beds in these units, but it's better than no camper at all.Re: Little antifreeze in hot water tank a problem?Agree. You are fine. Might take a few rinses to get the foaming to stop, but putting a little in the HW tank is better than winterizing by putting antifreeze in the FW tank and pumping it from there. Trust me, it takes a lot longer to rinse the FW tank than it does the HW tank!Re: Bunk ladder/safety railMy kids have been camping since they were about one. We used a basic swing down style toddler rail to keep them from falling out of the bunks. It just tucks under the mattress and prevents them from falling out. You can find them at several big box stores for about $30.Re: Beating a Dead horse...Roof Cleaner\Conditioner falconbrother wrote: CW told me that if I don't get up there once a year it voids the roof warranty. So, I have to clean it and treat it every year to maintain the ten year roof warranty. And, I have to document that with receipts etc.. Based on what the guy that gave us the walk-around was saying I have little to no confidence that the warranties will be honored without lots of fussing and fighting if I need it in a few years. Just keep in mind that the "10 year warranty" is only for the membrane itself, which is unlikely to disintegrate and fail. If the manufacturer did a crappy job at installing it, or there is a leak at a seam, you are out of luck. Those are on you to inspect and keep maintained.Re: Mattress Storage? My small hybrid had two queen beds that ABSOLUTELY require the mattresses to be folded in half to be stored. I do not see how a standard memory foam mattress would ever work. We used a pillow topper to cover ours that worked pretty well. On the plus side it could be rolled up and easily stored.Re: Looking to upgrade to a TT after hybrid for 14 years! There are a lot of floor plans that fit that description including my Bullet 274BHS (now 277bhs). Front queen with rear double over double bunks are offered in almost every trailer line these days.Re: Newbie - Leveling on DrivewayHow many inches out of level are we talking about? The picture looks pretty level.Re: walking on roof of a 2010 keystone passport Camper G wrote: The jaycos magnum truss system is said to be able to hold 4500lbs. I'd think it would be ok to walk on? Over the whole roof, or concentrated in just a few square inches? When you walk on the roof you are putting your whole weight on only a very small spot (how big are your feet?). Big difference versus say snow that is evenly distributed.
