Scamps are made in Minn so probablythey have more insulation than the Casita, I talked to Casita about insulation at one time and they did not claim to be a 4-season trailer. We have drifted around a lot and there always seems to be a use for more insulation, even in the summer. Escapes are really beautiful but pricy. And there may be an even longer waiting list. kCasita, Scamp and Escape make 5-th wheel models.Re: Carefree Awning Arm Neededtry Competition Recreational in Denver, 720-251-2359 They did a repair for us this summer and seem to do a lot of remodel work.. Also within a few blocks of Carefree factory. They may be a source or know sources for parts.Re: Ann Arbor, MI campgroundsHave used Detroit Greenfield. It will be closest to AA and also for trips to Detroit area. Park is a pretty standard one beside a small lake. It should suit your requirements The various regional and state parks are further away and may be fully booked in summer. If you can get reservations, the cost should be less and a drive to AA is still possible. Facilities comparable to the D-G park.Re: Huntington Beach State Park SC area questionsBrookgreen Gardens is primary reason to visit. It was constructed by the Huntingtons as a sculpture/art garden for the wife, There is also a historical section recently added to interpret the slave life of the five rice plantations acquired by the Huntingtons to create Brookgreen. There was a very interesting boat trip to see how the rice plantations operated. Slave housing has also been replicated. Entry ticket is for multiple days so you can do the art section one day and historical areas the next. be careful around the realistic animal sculptures. My wife walked up to investigate a "carved" alligator and then realized it was a real one, just in time!!Re: Camper Selection Assistance NeededTruck Camper Magazine -- https://www.truckcampermagazine.com/ -- has a method for considering what weight a truck can handle safely. This is a free internet blog that will keep you up on wvents in the truck camper world.Re: wondering why..question on bumper plugsI used the square hole to insert a length of rope with a large washer attached so I do not lose the plug during dumping. Be sure not to use a long screw to attach the free end to the outside of the tube or you risk making holes in the hose as it is inserted or removed. Also I removed enough of the screws from the tubing cover on my RV to avoid tears from those along the length os the storage area.Re: Adding swivel to front seatsI agree on the difficulty in using swivels on the C Class front seats. If you look closely you wlil notice that the front seats are lower than the flooring behind them. If you swivel, the seat is at the same level as the rear floor so your only seating alternative is to stretch out your legs. Also swiveling the seat involves a lot of trouble because the passenger seat is near to the dash with little adjustment room. Have never tried to install a Swivel driver seat but expect impediments at the steering wheel. Not worth the installation difficulty, plus $200-300 per swivel. Did it twice and never used more than 4-5 times. Put your effort into more comfortable cushions at the dining table.Re: What do you know about CampLite Trailers?CampLite TT and Truck Campers are now produced by Thor, I believe. I have a small (less than 6 foot) camper on the back of my Dodge Dakota. It is an early model, from 2011, with minimal amenities. It has been a good camper with no problems thus far. I looked at trailers when I purchashed the camper. Trailer and camper construction seemed the same. Not sure about current model quality, as I have not seen one lately. Lots of people admire my camper as it is pretty impressive in its simplicity and durability. Canplite is a good choice if you are compiling a shopping list.Re: few questions about electrical re-wiring in a camperFrom your user name, you may be working on an Apache. If so these are very popular and you should just search for Apache remodels on the forum. Otherwise use your trailer brand here and in YouTube for info. I now use YouTube for all may problems. If solution is simple, I avoid the dealer. If more difficult, I can learn enough to avoid dealer double-talk.Re: Newbie question about warrantee work.About warranty work. Most major appliances in RV have a separate warranty that can be used with any dealer authorized to repair the item Manu warranty only applies to the frame and body items for the RV. Many of these repairs are simple household problems. Anyway when you are in need, you will probably be parked in a campground maybe a 1000 miles from the dealer. All dealers sell their service but first time I returned to mine, the service desk wanted to schedule me several months in the future, even though I needed just a squirt of caulking to cure a leak in entry. Had to beg to get someone to do what was a five minute job. Shop all dealers in vicinity to get pricing comparisons, You can ask local to match that price or be within a small amount. For example, I bought my RV in Denver based on an advertised price nearer to my home in VA.
