Thanks for the opinions and I will go Pet Stop.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Just a quick question...do any of you have problems with family that don't care for animals as we do? I have a DD that won't let me bring Gordon when I visit. Oh, I can bring him, but have to leave him outside. Gordon is a King Charles Cavalier/Pekinese, my baby, and I just cannot leave him out when I want to visit my grandson. Having a hard time with this. Any help?Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Wow, just as I finished this entire thread, y'all quit posting. I've been glued to this thread for the past month....having withdrawals now. Dixie, it has been raining non stop here in the N. Ga. mountains. Hope some of it trickles down your way. How's Fella feeling today? My Gordon refuses to get his little paws wet, so I have to tote him out to the roadside to do his business. Luckily, I live in the country, so no traffic. Just chattering to keep this thread alive. Hi to all you furbie lovers.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Whew! I finally made it to the end and now Rich has started a new story. Thanks everyone for the welcome and I look forward to daily updates on all involved here. Rich, you asked where we camp up here in Rabun County...Never been camping at Black Rock although we have been up there. There is a nice state park at Rabun Beach and then our favorite is Sugar Creek off Hwy 197. Coming back from Jax, FL last week we stopped at Ocmulgee SP for the nite. Pretty close to you as the crow flies. We were also at the Outer Banks about the same time y'all were in September. Just want you all to know that I have read every word of this thread in about 4 weeks and that during the holidays with family, friends and all that goes with the holidays. Code2High, you are so knowledgable about animals. Are you a vet? I just love to read your opinions on how to raise dogs. Have learned volumes from your posts. Dixiedew, you are just too funny. Love to read your Dixiedew posts. DandyDan, I am so happy that you got Anna. She is beautiful. And the family of Anna2 (Pia or is it Tia) what a great story of her trip across America. She, too, is a pretty dog and so lucky to have a great home. i could go on and on. I feel like I know so many of you personally. What a great saga and I hope it will continue for a long time. Such inspiration from all of you, especially Rich and Sue. We live too close not to meet someday. I look forward to that day. DH has made a career change this year so do not know what our RV future looks like, but have already put the bug in his ear about Branson Rally. I'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, I will checking in everyday and look forward to the rest of the stories from Rich's magic fingers. Good nite and God BlessRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Page 386 of 456 and counting....Dad just returned from camping trip w/dd and family and OF's back legs are troubling him. You know in reading this as intensly as i find myself doing, I can sense the feelings of all involved in each other's lives. When one is down and needs the prayers of others, y'all all pull thru. When there is sadness we all feel it and the happy times are celebrated by all in unison. I cry, I smile, I pray and I laugh out loud. Thank you all FOOFs for a beautiful story. Can't wait to catch up and meet you all and give you all a big hug, especially Rich, Sue and Old Fella.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Happy New Year to all. Just thought I'd let y'all know, I am still reading the Old Fella story, now at the part where Anna goes home with Dandy Dan. Had to stop and post since I cannot read any more through the tears. I have been reading this thread for a few weeks now and I cannot tell you all how it has affected me. We went Rving to Jax, FL for the NY holiday and every camper I saw on the road, I wondered if they knew about Old Fella and his story. Just wanted to check in on y'all and let you know where I am in the story. Now back to reading. Hopefully I'll catch up soon (if y'all would just not post anything for awhile....)I'm in March of 2007. Y'all are the most amazing bunch of folks. I love you and God Bless you all.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Seasons Greetings (2007) to all the Foofs. Been reading this thread for two weeks now and have not posted until now. I am now reading the Christmas of 2006 postings and Lynn just reappeared. I was so worried about her. Thank goodness she is doing better. Rich and Sue, you are my heros. I have never seen such magic come from people. I would be honored to meet you. And of course, Old Fella. My DH and I live in the NE GA mountains (Rabun County) home of Deliverance. We, too, have a rescued furbaby. Actually, found his Mama chained to a tree and had wrapped herself around the tree so much she could not get to her water bowl. I brought her home and two days later she had puppies. I did not even know she was pregnant! One puppy died, one was adopted to some friends and I kept the runt. His name is Gordon and he is Cavalier/Peke. He is now three and goes everywhere I go. If dogs aren't allowed, I don't go. You people on this thread have helped me alot in training and doctoring and so much more. I wish I could meet every one of you and give you all a big hug for all that you do for our four legged friends and for all the loving support that you have offered Rich and Sue. They are truly special people and we can all learn valuable lessons from them. As I write this, I think about our county and the need for improvement on animal control. There is absolutely no pet ordinances here and dogs run free all over the county. We have have two instances of pit bulls mauling people to death here in the last year. As of the first of the new year, I plan to volunteer at the local humane shelter (because of you, Fella) and am going back to school at the age of 55, to become a vet tech. Thanks to all of you, God bless you and Happy Holidays. JulieRe: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .ok, y'all, I passed the 'you might be a redneck if..' test and now I can relate to 90% of this thread. So I am a redneck and a RVer...does that make me a redneck RVer?
