Its very common for the o-rings to go out on them and cause oil leaks. If I were you I would post your situation on the following forum in the 7.3L section and you will get pleanty of answers about your situation. www.ford-trucks.com Specific forums for 7.3L http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum31/ Tim MRe: Ford f350 oil leak need a mechanic who works on disealThe high pressure oil lines can rupture and leak a significant amount of oil all over. This thread talks about others having to replace those lines after they have blown the lines and dumped a bunch of oil. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1197513-blew-a-high-pressure-oil-line-today-on-the-freeway.html The good thing about the 7.3 diesel is the engine shuts down if it does not have any oil and it does not harm the engine. Tim MRe: 2003 F350 7.3 with a wide body toy hauler, mirror issuesHave you looked at updating the mirrors to the 2008+ version? They are a direct fit and they give a larger viewing area than the original ones. Those who have swapped them out are pretty amazed on what they can see. I have been behind the wheel of a friends truck that had the 08 mirrors and when I got back into my Excursion with the stock tow mirror I couldn't believe how much my mirrors were missing. Tim MRe: Ford AIS filter?I agree with using Tousley or you can get it from RiffRaff Diesel or RockAuto. Anyway, the ball joints are being replaced this morning. Cross your fingers. Moog ball joints on these Fords have the tendency to be tight and create a poor return to center. This in return causes you to constantly try and steer the truck straight causing a wandering effect. Also, there is a special torque sequence you need to do properly when installing Moogs and if not followed properly will cause them to be stiff or bind. As you have read elsewhere the steering boxes on the Fords get loose and can be adjusted. If the box gets adjusted too much they will wear out inside. You may try to adjust the screw on the top of the box. I had to loosen mine up to allow it to track straight. I did end up getting a RedHead steering box because after I replaced everything in the front end it still wasn't to my liking. It did make that last bit of difference. TimRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Ok....I took someone elses idea but I think it's one of the coolest things to do. I added some peg board to the front storage of my trailer. I think I will be able to hang almost all the tools and other items I need instead of having them in bins. So far nothing has fallen during my drives. I also wanted a place outside my bins to hide my dump hose with all its fittings so I came up with a spot right in front of my back bumper to hide the container.
