I was able to put the slide back out, and carefully un-jam the seal by pushing it back inside the trailer. Thankfully I was able to get in to a dealer right away, without losing any camping days. The service tech informed me that the seal had never been properly installed, and should have been noticed during PDI. Just posting this as a heads up, in case you haven't taken a real close look at the seal and how it is attached.Re: epic trip - Canadian rockiesBack then we had considered the Liard highway, but it was in bad shape and rained the day before. It would have been an "interesting" drive at that time. As it was, the Top of The World Highway, particularly around Chicken, was in pretty poor shape that year. You mentioned that you camped at the North of 60 campground this year, have you ever been to the Twin Falls campground or Kakisa? Those were two of our favourites.Re: epic trip - Canadian rockiesGlad to hear you had a successful trip! If you do plan a Whitehorse trip, I can tell you it's a great trip. Back in '04 when I was living in Yellowknife, we took a tent trip that way. Our routing was roughly Yellowknife-grande prairie-Fort st john-whitehorse-skagway-Juneau-Haines junction-tok-anchorage-Denali-Fairbanks, plus a whole bunch of stops in between. It was a lot of fun, and now with kids and a trailer, I'd love to do it again.Re: Icefields Parkway Security/SafetyI live just outside Edmonton, and recently camped in Peter Lougheed park as well as Mt Kidd rv park. As far as security goes, Gary's suggestions are bang on. There doesn't seem to be many problems at the trail heads, but if you left your vehicle in one of the tourist towns (Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper) the risk level could be potentially higher. As far as hiking goes, if you choose to do any hikes in the southern areas near Banff/Canmore, make sure to check on area closures and bring bear spray. There's quite a high level of bear activity, in part due to a bumper crop of berries at the lower elevations. Enjoy your trip, it's spectacular country.Re: Shorter trailer searchI should have specified, under 25 feet bumper to ball. Doesn't seem likely.Shorter trailer searchIs there a TT under 25 feet, with bunks, a master bed (Murphy or permanent) and an outside kitchen?Hybrid with outside kitchen? Is there such a thing? Closest I've seen is the Outback 210/240, but that's the expandable with the rear slide bed.Re: Broken couch 2014 Jayco 23MBHUpdate: I pulled the front panel off the couch and realized that one of the three screws they used to attach the armrest had pulled free. Looking closer at it, the original screws were 2 1/2 inches to connect two 2X2's. Once I replaced those with 3 1/2 inch screws, it's all back together again. The bonus is that I now have another storage area to use.Broken couch 2014 Jayco 23MBHSo my 6 year old ran into the armrest of the couch, and the armrest has separated from the body of the couch. Has anyone else had this happen or know how it's supposed to attach to the rest of the couch? I've taken a preliminary look at it, but haven't figured out what Jayco had in there to hold it together.Re: Bear rips into sleeping family's tent trailer Bmach wrote: Like a bear will be stopped by a hard sided trailer. I have a hard sided trailer with fibreglass exterior walls, and the only weak points I see are the windows and door.
