All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Greenbal TiresI have switched over to Good Year Endurance and am very happy with their wear and performance. With the rising cost of doing business because of the rising inflation in our country. I have har to shop around more so I bought my tires from Tire Rack.com he saved me a lot of money. I got free 2 day shipping to a location of my choice.. I had to buy to get them mounted but even that cost added on I still managed to save over a 100.00 dollars for the two tires I boughtRe: 5'er Length Where You Have Issues Finding Campgrounds/SitesTry this report, and see if it helps. This may not be gospel, but it will give you some idea I suggest you get it straight from the horse's mouth. I would call the ones you plan to visit to be sure. I think it is good idea to get reservations if you are concerned about getting a large enough spot https://camperreport.com/best-rv-length-for-national-parks/Re: Excessive Tire WearI had a 1998 Terry 24' pull trailer It had reasonably new tires before my trip to Midwest from Idaho. I put 3,000 miles on it and noticed when I got back to Idaho I had uneven tire wear down to the chords on my back axle tires. I checked my service guy and he said have the axle alignment checked sure enough they were out of alignment. $!25.00 to line up every thing back up. No more problems Trailers often times due to rough roads and loads onboard will over a period of time move axles ever so slightly just enough to cause un-even tire wear and the axles from cargo weight and rough roads will shift alignmentrunning two chargersHere is a technical question. Let's say you want to charge your house batteries on your RV quicker. If you have two 12 volt batteries in your battery bank would you charge that battery bank quicker if you put two 25 amp battery charges on at the same time. Would that be possible to increase charging amps and less charge time or would it fry your batteriesRe: battery charging when boon dockingGood idea it is worth looking into a PD9280-148Re: battery charging when boon dockingWhen I had a pull trailer I ran a large capacity amp battery charger up to my generator and put it on my two batteries on a high amp quick charge for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours at night just before dinner. That gave me enough to last over night while on batteries. The morning charge around breakfast time gave me enough for the day and then the evening charge got me through the night. The two hours on gen at those times of day also allowed me to use 110 volt appliances when they were most likely to be needed at breakfast and dinner time.battery charging when boon dockingWhat is the best way to get a good substantial charge while boon docking with a 5th wheel without running your generator for a long time to run converterRe: Excessive Tire WearI had a 1998 Terry 24' pull trailer. I made a trip to Oklahoma from Idaho and almost wore out on the inside edge of all my tires. The steel chords were showing. I was advised that my axle was out of alignment. Had them realigned and it cured the problemRe: RV Parks in Oregon,Washington,CanadaIf you are considering the Oregon State Parks along the coast even in Sept. I would advise you to have reservations made especially given the size of your 5er. The Oregon State campground system are some of the most scenic you will find along the Oregon coastRe: Changing the gears in my suburban falconbrother wrote: My 4x4 burb has the same gearing ratio with a 5.3. When not towing it runs super strong. Will burn the tires. But, towing isn't real impressive. I'm never going to change gear ratios. I'll live with it till I can buy a dedicated tow vehicle and keep driving this burb to work every day. That's going to be a couple of years away. The good news is that the 5.3 doesn't mind RPMs as much as I do. I do a drain and fill of my transmission at every oil change to keep the Dex6 nice and red. I changed the filter a few months ago. Nevertheless, the burb is adequate for towing. It really depends on what your standards are. Years ago I towed TT's with vehicles that didn't do as good as the burb. Good boy taking good care of your Burb
