They have a great Farmers Market we stop at right off I-95 on the way to Myrtle Beach right off the exit heading East. dave mgirardo wrote: bucky wrote: Do not stop at the I95 Lumberton NC Wal*Mart. Lumberton was recently named as the most crime ridden town in NC. We had 3 Officers tackle some thug 20 feet from our door the last time, that was enough! We have spent the night at the Lumberton, NC Walmart a few times. It is probably one of the loudest we've ever stayed at. Seems like people would intentionally race their engines as they passed by us. It's been a while since we have stayed there for that reason. Glad to know there is no reason to stop in Lumberton for any reason. We've stayed at a lot of different Walmarts along I95 between NJ and GA. We prefer Walmart because they have security that ride around the parking lot throughout the night. They also provide a place to stock the fridge and pantry before heading back out onto the road. We have found a few that aren't open 24 hours, but even those had security in the parking lot. I'm a light sleeper, so being right off the highway usually keeps me from getting a good nights rest. Walmart has worked well for us. We've used Walmart with both our HTT (only one bed folded down) and Motorhome. -Michael Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?sachillies, glad you made it home safely. Yes, some of those roads in PA can be rough, especially parts of the turnpike. You will hear the house rattle as you are driving accross that road. I was afraid your purchase got delayed, I was driving home today and saw a 23A still parked out front with a SOLD sign on it.Re: Fly and drive tool kit, picking our new to us CA 23AIf planning on hitting Harbor Freight make sure you sign up ahead of time for their fliers and text coupons. They send out every Friday a 20% off coupon as well as multiple coupons for free small stuff with any purchase. I live less than 2 miles from the Cruise America you are going to, feel free to PM me if you need a tool you don't have while in town. If you are looking to kill time and like to hike or enjoy Civil War history, you are within 5 miles of Manassas Battlefield. daveRe: Ford E450 17B08 loose crankshaft bolt recallThanks for the heads up! I just looked mine up and it hasn't been done yet. I guess I'll call the local Ford Truck center and schedule an appointment with them. Better safe than sorry, might as well get it done before the big trip this summer. daveRe: Appliance storage old guy wrote: in my opinion anything heavy needs to be in the floor level compartments. you go around one corner too fast and they will be all over the floor and possibly broken I agree. Definitely makes sense, also makes it easier to get those heavy things out if they aren't above your head. One just has to watch the first 10 minutes of the movie RV to see what a mess and possible harm things falling out of the upper cabinets can do. (Yes I know it was a movie :) , but still a good reminder I think.)Re: split/two piece matressWe have a Thor 26B with the bed slide. It has a folding mattress. We wound up putting a 3inch egg crate on top of it and it feels fine. I can sleep and wake up easily with it. We cannot use ours when the slide is in since it folds up from the knee area of the mattress. Being careful when folding the mattress before sliding the slide in makes most of the "made bed" stay in place while traveling, just need to make sure the bottom is tucked in nicely next time mattress is folded out. daveRe: First slug of RV supplies for a first timer. What do I need? rvshrinker wrote: I’m going to have a small corded impact wrench with up to 250 ft-lb of torque, which I’ll run off my truck. I’ll have to make sure to have the right sockets. Thanks! That is perfect if you get into the campground at a reasonable time, just remember delays happen and you do have to make sure you can manually crank your jacks as well. Other campers won't take well to an impact wrench at midnight. :)Re: Need suggestionsWe purchased a Thor Chateau 26B which fits your size requirements at 27.5' in length, should be able to fit your price requirements as well, has a walk around bed (although a little tight on far side), couch and dinette. The couch was one of our wants. daveRe: How Long to WaitWhen you are doing your deal, give them an Out The Door price you are willing to pay for the RV. They can decide how they want to price up the RV, and any fees they want to add plus the sales tax. This way as wanderingmimlessly put it, you will not get shocked by additional fees they want to tack on to the price you agree to. daveRe: 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 29FE goufgators wrote: Regarding the subject MH, the radio is not working and I suspect it might be a fuse problem. But, I don't know where the fuse panel is located. Can anyone steer me toward it? Thanks! Do you have the battery switch turned off by your stairs? The radio will not work if the coach battery is turned off. Or at least that is the case in our Thor Chateau 26B. dave
