You should be able to mount it on back wall behind the battery box (assumming your battery box is sealed and vented to outside). Maybe 2' That's where I bought mine. Of course he might have "handlers import fee" if they ship UPS There was some extra shipping and would be duty charges associated with it but the rv place doesnt need to know that lolRe: Inverter Install n7bsn wrote: devoncbutcher wrote: Does anyone know why my pictures wont post and why i cannot see pictures others have posted? It's in your personal preference settings Thanks I did finally figure it out last night.Re: Inverter InstallSo now that i've decided on the Xantrex 2000 and mounting within a couple feet w/ 4/0 cable. Back to stopping my built in charger from trying to kick in and loop the power. Best Converter has an inline Amp transfer switch, is that what i need?Re: Inverter Install mena661 wrote: pianotuna wrote: Hi, I ran a 120 volt #10 cord from the inverter location to the shore power cord box. It powers a 30 amp outlet. I did this too (that's a 20A plug in the bottom pic). I really like the way you've got that mounted. I would like to do something similiar if not the exact same lolRe: Inverter InstallDoes anyone know why my pictures wont post and why i cannot see pictures others have posted?Re: Inverter Install pianotuna wrote: Hi, The 120 volt side length of cable doesn't matter much. On the DC side 5 feet is a LARGE length. Try to get it closer. Bestconverter is selling the 2k prowatt for $355 USD. See if the dealer will match or at least come close to that price. It doesn't ever hurt to ask for a discount. I will talk to them tomorrow about it as the Battery Direct store i spoke with supplies the RV dealer I purchased unit from. You guys have all steered me very clear of the Sunforce though. Much appreciated.Re: Inverter Install hmknightnc wrote: $355 from Best Converter clicky 5' seems awful long. Maybe 2' Well maybe 5' was a little exagerrated but looking at having to run them under the front lip of trailer and up into the storage space would be between 2-4' I would guess. Then i have to figure out getting a cord through there for shore power.Re: Inverter Install hmknightnc wrote: For what you want to do (including the coffee maker) the easiest way (IMHO) is: - Xantrex 2000W inverter - Mount as close as possible to your batteries with the largest wires that fit - Turn Electric Refer, HotWater, and Converter off - Plug trailer into inverter via shore power cord with appropriate adaptors If using a coffee pot routinely you might want to consider updating to 4 6v batteries Okay, I know in Kamloops I was quoted $475 for the Xantres PROwatt 2000 inverter. Is that a reasonable price for it? I have a front storage space in the unit that I was hoping to mount the inverter into. It is approx 5' and then the shore cable to the inverter.Re: Inverter Install pianotuna wrote: Hi, Two batteries may limit what you can do wattage wise. When I do upgrade to PSW it will be either to a gopower 3000 watt or the new Magnum 3000 watt hybrid unit. I am planning on adding 2 more 6v batteries in the near future just trying to figure out where and how to mount them first.Re: Inverter Install pianotuna wrote: Hi devon, In this case the Xantrex is cheaper. Especially since you do not need 2500 watts. Sunforce is bottom of the barrel. Buy it if you must. I certainly would prefer to buy something I can install and forget about. In regards to running my coffee maker, it says 975watts on it but I dont imagine thats peak. I want to do it right the first time and dont mind spending the money
