One day hopefully RVs will be required to be safety inspected / weighed with the TV.Re: Cleanup of 5th wheel accident in CaliforniaThere is a saying about what cannot be fixed ~~~ that leads to trucks like this that cannot be fixed either.Re: Cleanup of 5th wheel accident in California"He made a mistake. We've all done it... light turns yellow, you hesitate while thinking what is going to move in the trailer if you hit the brakes harder than normal and you end up losing precious safe stopping time. Most of the time everything ends ok, but this time a number of factors aligned and it didn't end well. Thankfully everyone walked away." He made several mistakes! Towing with a 5" lift, towing with questionable on many fronts tires, being severely over payload, possibly well over GVWR and/or GCVWR, along with mentioned above. Very glad they all walked away, actually surprised they did. Wonder if he received citation(s) as he should have.Re: Cleanup of 5th wheel accident in California ShinerBock wrote: Okay, I gotta hear this. How does it being a Ford diesel have anything to do with the reason why the truck flipped? And how would a SRW GM or RAM would have kept it from flipping? I'm waiting to hear that as well. I have a 2016 F350 SRW and loaded I'd be over payload. That PW had to be getting close to 4000#. His load was in dually territory and still would have flipped.Re: Cleanup of 5th wheel accident in CaliforniaHe ran red even if he saw yellow. Vehicle at a dead stop approaching would not have hit or at least hard. Truck lift did not help. Those tires did not help even if rated for the load. Way over payload for a 3/4 ton, would be on my F350 as well. Why would anyone attempt to run yellow with 40' behind them? New truck and 5er so must be a newbie ~~ or else if his brain were gasoline there would not be enough to power a piss ant's go cart around a Cheerio. Wondering if he received a citation or a number of them.Re: MontanaThere have been more than 100,000 Montanas built. No other model has seen a fraction of that number. Only one minor problem with my 2017 that I'll take care of when / if the weather warms in 2018.Re: Oh no,....it's happening!!!I've been accused of being the Weight Police in the past. Generally, I don't care what someone does as long as it does not cause me or the general public a safety hazard. I saw a Cadillac SUV holding up traffic on I-77 last fall loaded about the same. My question is if these are so easily spotted why are the real police nit taking care of the unsafe travelers?
