We took our TT for it’s first week long camping trip at our families home in the country. The old house sits on a little over 2 acres of land. I pulled in and set up near the work shed. I had to run the power and water lines about 100’. The a/c ran for 25 mins and tripped the shed breaker. The breaker is located inside the shed, and guess who didn’t bring a key. Good thing I brought the generator. Fired it up and was able to run a/c ,lights. refer and 20” TV. Had to shut down a/c for microwave use though. It ran with it but the gen set would strain to keep up. On a full tank of gas it ran 9 hours in 93 degree heat. I left the generator in the bed of my truck about 10’ away and could not hear it when the a/c was on. We left the TT there because we’re going back for the 4th. While at home I was showing a friend the ELM (he’s buying one soon) and it would not start. After 6 pulls the recoil sprung. Dang it! Ops, didn’t turn the fuel valve on. :o A call to ELM and in 12 hours I got a new recoil starter. 3 bolts and away it goes. Works great when it has gas! :BRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. cufor98 wrote: What a thread! I just purchased this generator from Pep Boys ($299) in Greensboro, NC. After reading through this thread, I'm concerned that it won't power a 13,500 A/C. I'm electrically ignorant. Is anybody familiar with this model and will it work? Thanks ETQ3000 It has two 120V/15amp outlets with no selector switchs. My elm3000l is about the same out put and runs my a/c, ref and converter.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. The pull start is very easy and light, unlike my mower. One pull starts it. Electric start is nice if you can get it cheap. If not, it's not worth the extra $.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. I didn't see that when I read about it, must have missed it. It's good to have.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. qtla9111 wrote: What is the difference between the ELM3000 and the ELM3000L? I just received my ELM3000L a few days ago. The ELM3000 doesn’t have the low oil shut down or 12v plug like the ELM3000L. It was just a few bucks more. Shipping for me was $62.00. I got it directly from Elm’s web site. They had one with wheels and handle that I had ordered at first but they phoned me telling me they were back ordered, I ordered the 3000L so I wouldn’t have to wait. People on ebay are selling pretty much the same gen set as the ELM3000 & 3000L but at very high shipping cost and at a higher price. Do some shopping it can save you money. The ELM3000L came “VERY” well packaged. And got here very fast. I ran it with my A/C and ref, it’ll run also with the MW but bogs down. I put the ref on gas and it works fine. It’s no where near as loud as my B/S generator, it’s fairly quit for the money I spent (65 db). I was going to mount it on back of my TT like I had with my old TT, but I’m just going to put it in the bed of my truck and run a power line to the front of the trailer. I had an SUV before so it had to go on the back of the trailer. My truck also has a rolling bed cover so if it fits closed I’ll leave the tailgate open for air and that should knock some of the noise down, even if I can’t close the top it should help. I plan to add wheels to it also.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I am going to buy a ELM3000. But from the manufaturer at this web site click here They wrote back to me after writing them saying I couldn't find one. :C
