After putting two dimples in his truck (one on each side), he decided it best to learn to use his sliding hitch. Just 2-cents from a guy with a long-bed Chevy;). Happy Camping!Re: I-40 West of MemphisHave traveled that route a number of time, last time was last fall. Though there is a good amount of truck traffic, I have always found the truckers to be very considerate, as a whole, and much more so on this road as opposed to other "super slabs". I don't know why this is but all the insanity seems to simmer down the moment I am on I-40. Take it for what its worth and have a great trip! Happy Camping!Re: Family meet up in ArkansasCan't give specifics about that area but I will go along with Arkansas SPs, as a whole. Pretty nice and not too expensive. No "day fees" that run the costs way up (that's why I love my "Texas State Park Pass" :)). Happy Camping!Re: Ft. Worth to Niagara Falls (Road Trip, No Trailer)Hey, thanks for all the great suggestions and keep them coming! A couple are already on our list but moist we hadn't thought of. Keep them coming and I'll do some sifting. Happy Camping!Ft. Worth to Niagara Falls (Road Trip, No Trailer)Haven't been near this site in a good while. Don't know why but still glad to be poking around again. The wife and I are planning a trip up to Niagara Falls for late summer/early fall. Going to be taking the Interstates for about 95% of the trip and the amount of time on the road is pretty flexible. Would like to know what would be worth seeing on our way up there and on the way back (can always take a different route on the way back and detours to see things are not a problem). As the title says, we aren't taking the "5th" on this trip so we will have more time for sightseeing. Anything y'all can think of will be worth looking into. Thanks for the input and, as always, Happy Camping!Re: Tire rotation. grizz272 wrote: Balancing beads? Never heard of them. What are they, and how do they work? Here you go; Tire Balancing Beads Have heard them but never used them. Idea makes sense but I have just always used the weights. Happy CCamping!Re: Tire rotation.Balance; yes. Rotate; no.Over Yonder RV Park, Olney, TexasAny feedback on this park? It is small and in a rather small town but it may fit the bill for a few days. Just looking for a place to park the rig and leave DW and DD while SIL and myself go do some huntin'. Any one been there? Happy Camping!Re: AC turns on with furnaceMine will do the same thing, depending on how I set the thermostat. Has to do with reducing humidity in the trailer, I believe. Don't recall how I set the thermostat to avoid having the AC coming on but know that I can do this. Check your Owner's Manual and it should tell you how to set it. PS: I believe setting fan on "Auto" is the correct answer but not sure without looking. Happy Camping!Re: Look What Tires Can Do!Well, I think I may be able to post some pix now. Plus the story has gotten even more interesting. The first picture I will post shows the tire that failed on our way up to Arkansas. As said in the original post, I got this taken care of and sent a claim to my warranty organization, "Tire Shield". They turned me down saying that the tire was not damaged but failed and that's not covered!!! Paperwork did agree so I have little recourse here. Sent a claim to the manufacturer (Unicorn Tire, Memphis, Tennessee) last Friday 11/17. Don't expect much but we'll. Now things get real interesting. This last Sunday, 11/19, I am sitting in my living room about 9pm. I suddenly heard a very loud "bang" from the front of the house. It was so loud, it brought my neighbor out, wondering what had happened. I discovered that the front, driver's side tire had blown at the same point the passenger side, rear tire had developed the large bubble. This happened, in the driveway, tires clean, inspected and covered about a week ago and the temps in the 40s!!! Needless to say, I was stunned. Took picture of this tire and sent them to Unicorn with an addendum to the first letter. Here is a picture of the most recent failed tire; I honestly expect little from Unicorn but plan to continue this through Winnebago. I know these tires don't last a long time but a little over 5000 miles wear and having one totally fail in the driveway is a bit much. Will post back here as things progress. Happy Camping!
