When you come from Lake Huron up the Saginaw River, the river branches into the Cass and Flint Rivers to the left, the Tittabawassee River to the right and the Shiawassee River straight on. Shiawassee is said to be Ojibway for "the river straight ahead". Heavens knows what Tittabawassee means. The Flint (from the East), Shiawassee (from the South) and Tittabawassee (from the West) Rivers combine to form the Saginaw River, which flows North to Lake Huron. Supposedly, in the Chippewa language Shiawassee means "the river straight ahead". Dale577Views0likes0Comments
