We stay near Potato Lake a lot and the Rim pics. make me 'homesick' for the rim. We traded our 19ft. 'trail cruiser' for the 5er. We had planned to lift it, but moved up to the 5er instead. It fit in a lot smaller places than we do now. We're ready to go, just need to get to a weekend the DH does not have to work. Hope to see you "In the Trees" soon.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosOk, I haven't read the whole thread yet, but here are a few. I don't like to see "junk" at the foot of the bed in the 5er. So, I bought several large wicker baskets. Now the shoes, socks or whatever are not noticeable when you walk into the trailer. I use one as my laundry basket, but leave my trailer slippers in the bottom all the time. Also have small wicker basket right by the door on the counter. Right where he sets his keys, screws, knifes, radio, matches, and all that stuff. I have another for the remote and the tissue box near the sofa. I use the Rubbermaid shelf liners to keep the baskets on the counter from moving while we travel. When I couldn't find the color I wanted, I bought wood stain. Now they are all nearly the same color. An old 12" birch bark canoe holds the salt, pepper, garlic, napkins on the table. Just set inside overhead cupboard when we move. I bought a sock drawer organizer. Keeps the cups and glasses in place when we move. We have the overhead storage all across the back, over the sofa. I use small baskets in each section. This keeps the boating/fishing stuff, hats, NASCAR stuff, books all separate. Plus, being short I can pull the baskets out and get what I want and return. The basket are see through or in a grid pattern so I can see what is in each. I use these all over the trailer. They keep things in place and I can stack in some of the other cupboards. I use them for canned goods. I can pull the basket out of the cupboard to see what I'm reaching for. Don't forget the folding step stool, I've been short a long time.Re: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .if...You bought your stick house because it came with an 12 ft. wide RV gate, in an RV friendly HOA. (Yes, we found one.) Then proceeded to add 57 feet of concrete so the 5er and TV would have a nice place to sit. Then added additional electrical wiring so 5er can have it’s own circuit. if...Trailer Life arrives and you fight over who gets to read it first. if...You stop for fuel and the DW goes to the 5er to use the rest room instead of the station facilities. if...DW asks for a new modified tailgate for the TV for her birthday gift instead of diamonds. If…the DH says he’s to tired to wash your work car, then goes out back and washes the TV and 5er top to bottom. Getting ready for the weekend is not work. And, if…You gotta take the 5er 20 minutes to the track for 4 days of fun and "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity" “I’m not speeding…I’m qualifying” bumper sticker, and for the roof: 5 ft Pink blow up flamingo, neon party sign, are all must have equipment…Yeah you’re definitely a HAPPY Redneck NASCAR RVer. PIR here we come. Oh, sorry, I got carried away. See you there! If…You read this whole chain of comments and still have more ideas you are...In very good company.
