Maybe this has put the production back. Also in the same story, the union is protesting some shift changes. Hmm wonder if they're related? That would be Warren Truck in Mich not the Saltillo Mexico plant. Better to work out the bugs then just ship out trucks a customer will have a problem with. Thanks for clarification and civilized answer.Re: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500 jody h wrote: spud57 wrote: lbrjet wrote: spud57 wrote: Saw a news story regarding quality issues with the Ram truck when they go thru the quality inspection. If you actually read the article you would see it was for 1500 trucks. Nice. How would you know what article I read? You are assuming I "actually" read the same article as you. Then post a link about quality issues about the HDs. Where did I say HD trucks???? I said Ram trucks!!! I also said "maybe this has put back production". If I was incorrect in my recollection of the story then there are certainly better ways to respond to my post than with these type of rude remarks.Re: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500 lbrjet wrote: spud57 wrote: Saw a news story regarding quality issues with the Ram truck when they go thru the quality inspection. Wow that is the first time I ever really thought about that.:h And if I remember correctly it has more torque as well.Re: Your Rig Dodgefather1 wrote: It has the code in the door for the heavy duty leaf springs but yes its the Max Tow package. Torque. Diesel, Fuel mileage towing- Diesel. power upgrades (within reason of course) probly equal. A previous poster asked why someone with a diesel will add a chip, or programmer? A: same reason as a gas truck, more power, and torque, or mileage. I know that my 07 cummins 350Hp/ 600 tq stock is enough. however, adding additional 275Hp, 300 lbs tq, makes towing a lot easier, probly less wear and tear on the drivetrain, less shifting, and I dont worry about big grades, or not being able to pass someone if I need to. I had a gas truck to tow with, it just is not the same as my diesel. Just my .02 I currently also tow a 51' triple axle gooseneck, good for 24K, again, no problems. I dont recomend doing this with a gas truck. 900ft/lb torque. Nice!!! Seriously. Curious, did you upgrade your transmission or are you waiting for it to blow up from that much torque.;)Re: Post your tow vehicle pics here francisrubberneck wrote: http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/yy286/handymans/IMG_0642_1215-1.jpg?t=1353872665 Here's a clicky thingy. When finished we can compare towing speed/rpm and fuel milage. The gasser will fail in all catagories. For it to be fair it has to be stock vs. stock. My stock 6.8 gasser 362hp/457tq and your stock 7.3 diesel 235hp/500tq. Yep, you'll burn a bit less fuel but I'd be curious who'd be at the top first. RPM comparing is irrelevant. Let both engines do what they were designed to do without all the "aftermarket" add-ons. I'm not suggesting that I would beat the 7.3 stock because I don't know. :) I can go to stock tune and I have 360/650 bet i can get their faster :h Agree but as you can see, my response was to the challenge from 64thunderbolt with a '99 7.3.
