I'm a truck driver with mountain experience, but I haven't travelled those routes in over 2 decades. I'm curious which would be my better route (baring weather). Crowsnest pass or Hwy 1 & 95? Tia This might be the wrong place for this question.Whistler Campground, Jasper. Closed 2019. RenosWe're camping at Canada's largest national park campground and have been informed that Parks Canada is closing Whistler (780 sites) for renovations for all of 2019. Plans are to upgrade service infrastructure (50 amp), A new welcome center, 17 new washroom / shower buildings (instead of 1 central shower building), wider roads thoughout, and purging the dead trees caused by the mountain pine beetle. Jasper's other campgrounds can't handle many 30'+ RVs, and they don't have any other campground with water & sewer hook-ups.Re: Banff/Lake Louise in September--good idea?Shouldn't be an issue. Camping availability and parking opens up after the kids go back to school. Toò be safe I'd get to popular places early or late.Propane 3 burner camp stove.Looking to replace my existing 3 burner propane (2) 12000 btu & (1) 9000 btu. I'd like to find a 3 burner with @ 20000 btu each. I've used 2 different camp chef pro 90's and have concluded that they're fine for cooking for a small army but are overkill for a young family of 5. Camp chef ranger III looks good except I can't get anyone here in Canada (Cabelas or Bass Pro) to bring them in. I've found one online supplier that says they'll ship one. Wondering if anyone has any other stove suggestions. Tia.Keeping 5th wheel from drawing in dust.I'm planning a fishing trip to northern Saskatchewan. Unfortunately there's over 100 miles of gravel to get to the lake. Been toying with a couple ideas to try to pressurized the 5er to keep it from drawing dust in. My former travel trailer sucked in a lot a decade ago. I've heard of people reversing a roof vent to keep the trailer pressurized. I've got a 2 direction fantastic fan in the bathroom at the rear of the trailer. Would running that keep enough positive pressure? Any other suggestions? I did a forum search, couldn't find anything related. Tia.Re: Banff National park this summer?I just booked a site in Tunnel Mountain village 2 for the long weekend in May. (Usually the worst gong show when camping in Canada cause its our first chance to camp after the long winter). Surprised there were lots of sites available.Re: My 2016 Alaska stats ($)Great blog. I was up on motorcycle with my brother in '03. Planing a trip with the family in '19. According to your blog your 3rd grade teacher, pictured on our $20 bill, was Queen Elizabeth. LolRe: Banff ReservationsIn my experience, they stop taking reservations after the Sept long weekend.Re: Troubleshooting 'Domestic rm 2652' RV fridgeThanks. Yellow powder under boiler and a smell of ammonia. I guess after 17 yrs it's done.Re: RM 2807 fridge questionI'll add that you should limit it's use if you're relying on 12v.
