It feels like thin carpet.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI agree the Aeropress coffee maker is the best. So easy to clean up and it makes great coffee.Re: RVing in EuropeWe have spent 17 months over 6 years camping all over Europe. We like to be in or near cities and have found campgrounds to be of all kinds and sizes. I see no problem camping Walmart style when you can look out and see the Rhine. At least you are not looking at Walmart and you are in Germany and probably sent the day at a castle or two. In England, Wales and Scotland we often stayed with Camping and Caravanning Club campgrounds where the rule is 4 meters distance between units. North of Rome, London and Oslo we had beautiful roomy spots on bus and/or train lines for easy access to the city. In Stockholm and Hamberg we were jammed into very tight spots but also right on bus lines. But we weren't there to sit in our motorhome. And you never hear noisy generators or have to deal with anyone's campfire smoke - they are not allowed. I find it interesting that almost all the discussions about camping in Europe are filled with negative comments by those who have never done it. That's about what it cost to ship our 24' Born Free in 2008. 16 months so far. Highly recommend it.Re: MPG and fuel costs for summer tripHere's some other real world numbers. This summer we drove from Lillehammer, Norway, down through Sweden into Denmark, across Germany to Prague, Czech Republic and back to storage in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. 2111miles $1702 for gas averaging $8.19/gallon and worth every penny. Details on our blog.Re: nameAbsolutely she is female. We have owned three Born Free's and they are all females. Our present one is" Rover", named after a dear departed dog - but so appropriate in so many ways. "Rover" was also the name of the first we lost in a flood. Our second was "Golly" as an "Golly, what have we done buying a second one." But I agree - she will tell you - just wait for it.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI needed a very specific sized little box to hold some meds in the bathroom cupboard. I couldn't find anything that would fit, but the bottom of a small milk carton was the perfect size. I cut off just what I needed, rinsed it out well and then wrapped it in duct tape to add a little handle. Goes in and out without a struggle.Re: How And Where Do You Do Your Laundry? If you do your own laundry without a machine consider buying the Laundry Alternative spin dryer - your clothes will come out almost dry. http://www.greencupboards.com/laundry-alternative-spin-dryer-97514/p/
