I often see where the plug or socket have burnt up on the portable units. If the receptacle on the portable gets a high resistance, you will get low voltage in your unit. I remove the wire from the input of the power panel, connect it to the EMS and then add a short cable from the EMS output to the input of the power panel. And if it’s a 50 amp unit, the hardwired will protect your unit from a power cord fault. IMHO, an open neutral on the power cord (or source) is the most important protection.Re: Built-in microwave sounds sick KATOOM wrote: My built-in Microwave in my 2005 trailer recently started sounding sick. It sounds like its slow to startup and the microwave light inside goes dim. It still works but has the appearance and sound of loosing power somewhere. I have a voltage gauge plugged in one of the outlets and when the microwave is on it plummets into the red. Is there something I should be looking for? Am I missing something? This does not sound like a microwave problem! If your voltage is going low you need to quit using the microwave and find out why. Does anything else pull the voltage monitor into the red zone? I’d start with checking the RV plug and power at the pedestal.Re: No power at the RV outlet to the Toad on my Winnebago NavionHas it been setup and quit working or are you doing this for the first time? I can’t remember the details but I had to add things when setting up our 2014 Via, which we no longer have. All of those outputs were fused in one of the two fuse locations: to the left of the drivers feet and in the left base of the drivers seat. If I recall correctly, I had to find the fuse info online. I ended up changing all the fuses to ones that light when they blow....tremendous help. FYI, if you are setting it up for the first time, our Via would not run led lights or even show the bulb voltages on a meter, they had to have a load such as incandescent. Sorry I can’t help you more. If you join the Facebook or Yahoo groups for the View/Navion/Via’s you will get immediate answers. There used to be 3 that covered: General info; technical info; and mods. Good luck!Re: Replacement stepsWe got the 3 step MORryde version and they are great. We didn’t use their handrail. It was in the way and the foldout one on the TT worked better for the 2 or 3 step model.Re: Household refrigerator to replace Norcold N641?I’m not familiar with your Norcold model but we did replace our 6 cu ft Dometic with a 10.1 Magic Chef residential from Home Depot.Re: New gadgetWe like it, thanks for posting this!Re: Mercedes ML350 towing hitch with travel trailer ml350-towing wrote: neschultz wrote: I had the same model and year car. The owners manual said that you cannot use a WDH! I think it is because of the way the hitch is cantilevered off the unibody frame. Have you towed with it? Did you have airmatic suspension. I heard that caused issues when the car had. Mine is just the regular suspension. I will re-read the manual. Thank you. I had the regular suspension. I never towed anything with it except a utility trailer. TT had too much tongue weight so we sold the MB and got a RAM pickup. We’ve now changed to a 5th wheel on a semi-permanent site in FL and snowbird.Re: Mercedes ML350 towing hitch with travel trailerI had the same model and year car. The control unit mounted on the TT frame and plugged into our truck. The TT cable plugged into it. Really handy when pulling with multiple trucks ...and my knees weren’t constantly hitting it. You did not actually “need” anything in the truck for it to work. But it came with a remote control that plugged into the cigarette letter for a display, setup, and a manual control. I hung mine from the air vent right by the shift lever where you could see it and access the manual switch easily. It did pair with the unit on the TT but I’m not sure if it was Bluetooth or not. It was the best, easiest to use brake controller that I ever used.Re: Schwintek slide out of whackDoes the slide controller show any error codes? LCI has some nice info on their web site.
