My Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos folders are echoed to 2 external hard drives. I use task scheduler to run SyncToy every night. Evey night any changes to my folders are echoed to the folders on the hard drives. I have made the drive letters of the 2 drives Y and Z. By alternating the 2 drives every week I can maintain an off site backup that is only a week old and a backup that is current every night. I save the exe files for each program I install and the corresponding activation code in a folder for each program. These folders are kept in a folder called Downloaded Programs. I never backup the operating system. Windows 10 is always available on Microsoft's web site as a free download and is free to install on any computer that has had windows 10 installed in the past.Re: how possible is this?About 5 years ago I bought a 27' TT with a 13' slide out. I asked the person I was buying it from about slide out locks and he said that you just push the button to bring them in and GO. While we were going through the stuff that came with it I pulled out 2 rods with rubber ends on them and asked him what they were for. He said that they were closet rods. I read the label on them to him. The labels said "Slide out rods. Secure before moving trailer". He had traveled from coast to coast with the TT and never used the slide out locks.Re: Screen mirroringI bought a Windows 8 laptop a few years ago. Watching it's videos that played while it was configuring windows for the first time, I learned that it had widi (wireless display). It's demo said I needed an adapter for the TV called Push to TV. I got it at Best Buy for about $75. It took many calls to India but after some firmware fixes it worked great. It's video is hi def and surround sound gets sent to my surround sound box. Windows 8.1 then screwed it up but Windows 10 made it better again. I just got a Windows 10 tablet and it mirrors it's display to my TV perfectly. Your laptop or tablet need the proper hardware for it to work and I understand that some Android tablets have the ability also.Re: Walmart - Internet on the GoI have used Internet On The Go for about a year. It works good but mostly in populated areas. Call their customer support. They are not great, but they are better than most. For me, they are a good option.Re: Media players?Every Windows computer comes with Windows Media Player which you can use to convert your music CDs to mp3 format and store them on your hard drive. It is an easy process. DVD's can be ripped to your hard drive with any number of free DVD rippers. Newer laptops with HDMI outputs can be hooked to a flat screen TV for video and audio. If you have an older computer, inexpensive hardware can be bought that will allow you to hook a hard drive or flash drive to your TV and play your MP3s and MP4s from them.Re: Whats wrong with Windows 8.1?Windows 8 comes with Internet Explorer 10 which can be upgraded to Internet Explorer 11. After upgrading to IE 11 and finding out that it has major problems, you can remove the upgrade and revert back to IE 10 which isn't quite so bad. If you upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 you automatically get IE 11 and can't go back to IE 10. You also can not go back to Windows 8 without doing a complete system reload back to factory settings. I have 2 Windows 8 machines that I upgraded to 8.1 the day it was made available. They have both been reloaded to Windows 8 factory settings. My Windows 8 laptop has WIDI (wireless display) and it works flawlessly. A friend has the same machine and he upgraded to W 8.1 and his WIDI would not work. I talked him into reloading W 8 and his WIDI now works as mine does.Re: Belgian WaffleWhen I make pancakes or waffles I use liquid coffee creamers instead of milk. There are dozens of flavors. My favorite is Pumpkin Pie Spice.Re: Please, when traveling togetherUse the 2 second rule. 2 seconds between you and the car in front of you. 3 or more if you are driving a big rig or if road or weather conditions are not good. This is taught in all defensive driving courses.Re: Need mobile hot spotI use Internet On The GO. It is $45 for 3 GB but no 30 or 60 day time limit. I know it won't work for everyone but for me it is the least expensive. I bought a 3 gig card last July and still have about 2.8 gigs left.Re: Broadcast From Win7 Laptop To TVSome Windows 7 and 8 laptops have something called WiDi (wireless display). It transmits wirelessly a mirror of your audio and video. Whatever you are looking at and hearing on your laptop, you are watching and listening to on your TV. Your laptop needs to have a I3, I5 or I7 processor and Intel Wireless Display. You need a WiDi ready TV or a set top box. I bought a set top box called Push2TV from Best Buy for $59.99. It connects to a HDMI input on your TV. It works great. WiDi also works with a Miracast-capable laptop, tablet or mobile phone. I use mine with my 110" projector screen. I set my laptop on the floor next to my chair and use a wireless mouse on the arm of the chair. If your computer has a I3, I5 or I7 processor, see if it has WiDi.
