The other day I replaced the fuel filter and passenger Velvac mirror with parts purchased from ryderfleetproducts.com. Scrubbed the filthy roof down in an early morning rainstorm a couple weeks ago. Installed a RV360 roof vent afterwards as well as 4 extended rain gutter spouts from Camco (wished I had done that long ago). I have been applying Dicor caulk to different spots here and there. Yesterday I installed a 6ft window awning that I built from a 7.5 ft awning tube and a salvaged (but brand new) patio awning. I cut down the used awning tube then out of a patio awning I cut (and then sewed) out an awning panel out of the center of the vinyl fabric where the main panel met the white weather guard portion. Then I created a scallop pattern for the valance out of a piece of paper, added some 3/4 inch lightweight webbing/piping to the edge for a finished look. Shortened a patio awning pulldown strap to work for the window awning. Installed the awning rail with butyl tape, stainless screws and a bead of Dicor caulk on the top edge. A friend gave me the new Carefree arms and springs and VIOLA' new window awning! total investment $30 ($20 for the new/salvaged fabric, $5 aluminum awning rail, $5 stainless screws) Next is a TuffMaxx air conditioner cover to replace the fragile old Coleman coverRe: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Is that Lucky Peak in your signature pic, Bericus? Or perhaps Andersen Reservoir?Re: Honda 2000i Carb Job With Photos Must Read!!!!! h45wt wrote: I believe that there is a fuel filter inside the fuel tank as well as the tubular screen in the filler neck. I'd like too change the inside one but haven't been able to figure out where it is. Anyone ever changed it? I know this is way late but OF COURSE there is a filter in the tank! You will need to pull the fuel line off of the bottom of the tank. Inside of the little moulded nipple of the plastic tank (that you just pulled the fuel line from) you will find a long and skinny fuel filtering screen. It is no larger in diameter than a pencil. probably a bit thinner actually.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Today I replaced the two front, flexible rubber, brake lines. I picked them up at NAPA with the four copper sealing washers for 53 dollars. I wanted to use the factory OEM parts but the Ford Dealer in Salem, OR. wanted 190 dollars for the pair (115 right side, 75 for the left). My Minnie is 10 years old now with 32k miles. I had a slight pull to the right when the brakes were applied and going straight down the road. Just returned from a test drive loop of 20 miles and found that the MH brakes straight and true in low and high speed applications of the pedal. No leaks now, as I was having a difficult time getting the caliper end of the brake line to seal.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Enjoy Rich! I am in Mill City right now and have been for 2 months. Doing volunteer work for the BLM and Marion County. Have really enjoyed it/meeting new people this summer. This past week I have performed some maintenance to my 2000 Minnie 324V: Drained/refilled the cooling system. I was only able to drain 16 quarts of the 30 quart capacity. The rest must have remained in the heads/water pump/heater core. I used Prestone green to refill. (so a bit more than 50% change out) Bled the brake system by removing as much of the brake fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baster and refilling then bleeding the four individual disc calipers til clear fluid emerged. Drained the 4R100 transmission and torque converter fluid and changed the transmission filter with a Motorcraft replacement. Refilled with the NEWEST formulation of Motorcraft MerconV ATF. I was only able to recover about 14.25 quarts of the 16 quart capacity. The rest must have been in the Transmission cooler/lines/valve body. At 10 years old now and 32.5k miles I am pretty sure that none of this has been performed before since there are now previous records indicating such. I am 2nd owner. Feels good to have it behind me now.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???I installed a new oem steering stabilizer on my e350SD. The original unit got a rock nick on the shaft which in turn ruined the seal so it has been slowly leaking for a while. I have noticed diminishing dampening each and every time I drive it. I installed a boot kit with this new damper so it will last a long time. Total with the tax = $50Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Today it was four new tires for the rear axle. Got some BF Goodrich commercial TA's for cheap at Costco.com then after the new tires were installed I went to the truck scales and had it weighed front and rear.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Today I replaced the awning fabric on my A&E 8500 series. Mine was about 8 years old and starting to become brittle. It was the first time I have ever done this task. My neighbor helped me take down and put back up the awning roll .Took us about 90 minutes start to finish. New material ready for the SUN!! :DRe: Your Favorite Boondocking Pics Jerry Campbell wrote: This is where we are now. Jerry '75 Crown Wow! where is that at? I like that wind generator Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Well a couple weeks ago I noticed that my Norcold refridgerator was a unit that was made in 1999 and was part of a recall. So fast forward to today when the mobile RV guy came by with my new cooling unit. I helped him remove the fridge and remove/replace the suspect cooling unit. Took 3 hours start to finish. Its nice to have a whole new unit ($900+ unit and $250 labor for free). It is now mounted and operating properly right now. :)
