It reads like the line from the beer commercial "those that like it, like it a lot." On the other hand, some of the comments came from those who found they really disliked hybrids. Ultimately, its a personal decision very much based on what you like/works for you. I sold my hybrid and purchased a large 5th wheel. It is a wonderful trailer, but it is not camping and is really best for two people. It is a luxury home on wheels, 40', 4 slides and requires a correspondingly large tow vehicle. I want to make camping memories with my grandkids and if I mange to sell the fiver, I will probably return to a hybrid. Quite likely another Jayco 23B. All the essentials, but still sleeping under canvas, at least preserving the illusion of camping. :-)Re: Hail DamageTwice what you paid last spring because its a stealership. If there is hail damage it was probably them on your roof with a hammer making dents. Get your trailer out of there fast.Re: New ball joints needed at 30,000 miles?Got around 120,000 on my '05 3500 CTD Ram. Not sure what changes Dodge has made in the front, but in the 2005 the upper ball joint was really a king pin rather than a true ball joint. As such it comes from the factory with vertical play. That vertical play is sometimes mistaken for an out of spec joint requiring replacement.Re: Urgent help needed with Blue Ox Sway Pro swayingIf this is the TV-TT combo you intend to stick with you might try timbrens or air bags on the rear to further improve towing performance. I have towed comfortably at max load before and in addition to the good advice you've received about ensuring the TT was not nose high and the tire pressures were appropriate I found considerable improvement with air bags. Separate left and right lines are best to keep the air from squishing out of one side and into the other on turns, bumps, etc. Happy New Year.Re: Jayfeather hybrid floor issueHi Chuck: It's this thread "New Hybrid . .. soft floor .. is this normal?" on the Jayco owners forum My 2006 Jayfeather 23B had a vacuum bonded luan/foam/luan sandwich floor and the Jayco site states "TuffShellTM vacuum-bonded, laminated floor, side, rear and front walls including slide walls". I wish they would put actual plywood instead of lightweight luan in the floor, but I don't believe they do. My 2006 floor was fine, but I only owned the unit for 2 years.Jayfeather hybrid floor issueI saw a thread on the owners forum regarding floor issues where the luan, foam sandwich became soft from use not water infiltration. Has this been a problem with hybrids lately or just a bad batch? This gives me some concern as I am considering selling my 5th wheel and buying a hybrid. :ERe: Electronic sway control trailer option?Interesting and pretty thorough sounding replies. I guess I always focused on trailer balance and good equipment for the job. I previously had a Nissan Pathfinder towing a Jayco 23b which was at the upper limits of weight for the Pathy and quite long for the TV's wheelbase. Rear airbags, a good WD sway control hitch and a good brake controller did the trick last time. Never exceeded 65mph and always felt comfortable with the tow. The basics worked last time so I will view the electronic anti-sway as a possible further safety feature and focus first on the fundamentals. Proper balance, proper gear, proper towing habits. Thanks for the input!Electronic sway control trailer option?I noticed a trailer option on the Jayco site for electronic sway control. Is this some sort of sensor that monitors the trailer for sway, then applies some braking? Does it reduce the need for sway control on a weight distributing hitch? Has anyone here used it? Was it effective? :-)Re: Ok, now what? Kodiak 206 vs Jayco 23bWe loved our Jayco 23b. Had a small issue with tent end door leak but jayco was excellent to deal with in resolving the problem. We had no other issues. Have no info on the Kodiak other than some negative feedback on here about Thor and their warranty support. We did make the drive to get the unit/options we wanted and had no regrets.Re: Finally found THE ONE!There is no competition here, so when we mentioned the RV Direct price they just said 'this is our price, take it or leave it and if you buy from them don't expect to bring it to us for repairs.' We did buy from RV Direct and it went very smoothly. Had a bunk end seal issue and had a local independent shop work with Jayco to fix it. With a large complex unit (Our 40' 5th wheel) we bought factory direct but through a local dealership. Proved wise, as we had issues we needed local service to resolve. If the Jayco dealer on our hybrid had shown some willingness to compromise we would have bought locally, but his attitude was unacceptable. Just be aware of the pluses and minuses to each deal and take your best shot. :-) BTW our hybrid was the Jayco 23B
