What is Quicksilver?Re: Inverter Causes Quick Surge That's a big inverter to be using a 12v socket, and just powering a TV. I got the big one, in case I needed more power in the future. I figured since I was only using for a low powered device, it would be fine in the 12v socket. That it would only pull additional power if I plugged something heavier in. Next trick will be to figure out how to cleanly bring the power from the battery all the way to the back of the trailer where the TV is. 2oldman wrote: And it's not a very good one, either. Why not?Inverter Causes Quick SurgeThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it in tech Issues: 28925077Inverter Causes Quick SurgeI just got a MicroSolar 1000W inverter. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F4TP3AE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I added a cigarette lighter connection, so I can plug the inverter into a cigarette lighter connection in the trailer. The connection is right next to the built-in radio/CD/DVD player in the trailer. I plugged it in, and turned the power on. When I do, there is a quick surge (or something) that causes my radio to reset to "12:00 blinking", and the inverter doesn't switch to "ON". Then, I push the "on" button again, and it powers up just fine. I have run the TV off the inverter for over an hour without any other problems. But after shutting down and trying to use the inverter again a day later, the same process happens. Any ideas what is going on?Re: Travel trailer style w large rear windowYeah, we spent about 20 minutes sitting in it yesterday trying to decide. Like you said, I think only a 32" TV will fit.Re: Travel trailer style w large rear windowHi, I am responding to a bit of an old thread here, but have a question for those of you with this floorplan. I am looking to buy one similar to this. But when we were checking it out, one of the concerns is that the TV mounting location is far away from the recliner chairs, so that you kind of have to look "over" the kitchen counter. And the couch is on the same wall as the TV, so you can't really see it very well. Have you found this to be a problem when using your Rear Lounge trailer? Specifically, we're looking at the Evo 2600 by Forest River. http://www.rvingplanet.com/product/new-2016-forest-river-rv-evo-t2600-456716-29#photos Re: New To Travel Trailers... westend wrote: There was a recent thread about a gal in FL that left her hose and tank valve open. The campground sewer system backed up and flooded the trailer with sewage. The TT was a total loss. That sounds apocryphal. Would the sewage system really be able to push the waste up the dump hose, fill up the tank and then push up through the toilet?Re: Trailer Length definition Dennis Smith wrote: Did any one look at the spec sheet before they bought the thing. I for sure did my homework. There are no set rules for model numbers or if includes the back bumper or spare. If a few feet matter take your tape measure and do your homework What spec sheet? I bought mine used. The seller called it a 26-footer. I can't find any paperwork or labels that indicate 26 feet. Nothing I measured comes out to 26 feet.Re: Trailer Length definition BurbMan wrote: Once upon a time the model # was an indicator of length. Some manufacturers used box length, some total length. Now it is more of marketing tactic to get you to think that a particular model is either shorter or longer than it really is. Then again, the OP wasn't asking about model #'s. Model # was part of the question. I assumed that model number was a direct reflection of the length in some way. But this thread shows that I was wrong about that.
