We have been staying at this resort for several years now (4 month snowbirds) and like it very much. They have RV sites and park model rentals - some pet friendly. We go to Disney a lot since we have annual passes. The resort is right next to Old Town, another popular attraction, and there is a car rental business right at Old Town.Re: Day care at Walt Disney worldThe "Best Friends" kennel is very nice and is only about 1/2 mile from Fort Wilderness campground, which is also very close to the Magic Kingdom.Re: Things to do around Orlando area OTHER than DisneyVisit St. Augustine and St. Augustine beach area. Very historic downtown area.Re: FestivalsCountry USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is a must. Huge show with lots to do and big name entertainers.Re: Camground in Wisconsin Dells?Have camped at the Dells many, many times at all of the campgrounds mentioned, and you won't be disappointed with any of them.Re: Was that you on I95 headed south?Yes it was. Got here (Deer Creek RV/Golf Resort) on Wed. Left Pigeon Forge on Monday morning (stopped there for a week to enjoy the mountains)and headed thru the Carolinas to I-95. Traffic wasn't bad. I'm sure that will change soon.Re: best time of year......My wife and I have wintered in Central Florida (near Disney) for quite a few years now. We feel the best time to visit Florida and Disney is Jan/Feb. Weather is always good in Florida. Obviously, you can get cool/wet weather anytime, but generally it is nice. There aren't as many families vacationing right after the holidays and before spring breaks start, making it a little less congested. But make no mistake, Florida is very busy during the winter months. Traffic is terrible, resorts are busy, and there are just a lot of people around.Re: 2005 Mobile Suite 32TK3 + 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty - OK?Whoever gave you the specs for the trailer was way off base. I have a 2004 36RS3 (36'9" long), ordered new in the fall of 2003, and the specs on it are: Dry weight - 12,500# Dry pin weight - 2500# GVWR - 16,000# It is still a great trailer and we love it. To quote one of the other posters, it IS built a lot better than the new ones. We just looked at new ones at the Tampa RV show and yes, they are nice, but the quality has suffered under the new ownership. MikeRe: When will you start the flight south?Leaving the 25th of Oct. Winter in Central Florida (near Disney -love the mouse). Will travel via Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg to enjoy the colors.Re: Rockford, IllinoisMy wife and I travel that route a lot and never have had any problems with traffic in that area and we tow a 36' 5th wheel. All the afternoon traffic on Labor Day will be headed south. Don't worry about the toll booth and have a great trip.
