I've purchased a big block of trip points to use, so that's not at issue. There's an Encore park there, and it doesn't let me book more than a 7 day stay. However, according to C2C rules, the GNP/Encores don't have a waiting period between stays and there are unlimited stays allowed. Can I simply, in the same internet session, book back to back multiple stays? Thanks in advance, DonRe: Roadside AssistanceIn 2009, we were about 15 miles eastbound out of Albuquerque when the RAM's fuel sensor failed, causing complete failure. AAA towed us first to the campground we'd left where we unhitched the 5'er, and then, to a local diesel shop (it was on a Sunday, so they were closed), and then gave me a ride back to the CG. I was so happy, I tipped the driver $20. I'll always keep my AAA RV coverage.Re: Post your tow vehicle pics herePicked up mine today from the dealer! 2015 F-350 SuperDuty SuperCab Powerstroke 6.7L. It's an XL with some of the upgrades available to that trim line. Installing in-dash GPS soon! Re: fuel quality questionOK, so to extend this topic -- who has the best diesel fuel. By best, I mean reliably more 'pure' D2, and also maybe, reliably less chance of water? By who, I mean Chevron, Exxon, or some of the truck stops, names of which escape me.Re: First season with your RV or travel trailer-what did you do?DW has been using her Good Sam trip planner tool for the last 6 months planning our trips. 2 days after I retire in March, we're taking our new truck/5'er to California, first southern, and then northern, and coming back in June. In July, 2 weeks in SW Fla to visit my brother (yeah, July in Fla, I know). In fall, up the eastern seaboard for the changing of the leaves. In winter, Washington DC -- want to avoid the big tourist season. Basically, we're only back to our S&B for about a month at a time for the next X number of years as long as we're having fun. DW has plans for almost all 50 states, but we haven't put 'em on a calendar yet. So, we're starting out full bore and keeping the pedal to the metal.Re: RV'ing Florida in SummerWe're planning to go around 4th of July weekend in our new rig in the Cape Coral area. From previous visits, we're well aware of the noseeums and have found that continuous spraying helps as well as setting up a fan to keep them blown off you. Being summertime, we'll probably not spend a lot of time outside, and our rig has 2 A/C's, so we'll be comfortable. Mainly there to enjoy my family.Re: Shopping for new Tow Vehicle and Fiver - Doing homeworkI chose an SRW long bed myself, but it looks like your specs are in order. I put out an internet query using TrueCar.com. It's amazing how lazy the folks are who get those requests for quote. Very few responses, and the ones that did respond weren't following up. The first one to act like they really wanted to sell a truck, I went over, configured and ordered the truck I want, and they quoted invoice. I felt that was fair. They were a Chevy/Ford dealer, and told me they could give me a much better deal on the Ford, and so I did. My 5'er hitch was installed at the Ford factory. I don't know if Dodge does that or not. It really sounds like you've done your homework, and I think, for the short term you'll have the rig, you'll do just fine. The only thing to consider may be resale value, but that's your decision. Enjoy your rig whatever you decide.Re: Retiring 2015 - 5'er Advice/Experience SolicitedPlaced a deposit on a 2015 Open Range Roamer RF337RLS. Used our local dealership and we both are thrilled. We're under our budget, under towing limit, and good on hitch weight. This is the one with the kitchen island on casters so we can move it out of the way when not cooking, making more room in the living area. Time to change my sig, I guess. Thanks, everyone, for your advice. Each and every one of you helped us make our decision, and we are grateful for this community!Re: Retiring 2015 - 5'er Advice/Experience SolicitedWell, we're just about ready to pull the trigger. Zeroed in on the floorplan we want, and know the weight class, length, and have preferences regarding the 2nd A/C and W/D hookups, etc. The posts about the Open Range Roamer have given me an alternative to the Grand Design 337RS. My local dealer carries both of those units and has the ones we'd consider in stock. I like that the OR seems to have more 'good stuff' in its equipment list. MSRPs are about the same on both units, but the OR has 2nd A/C and auto-leveling as well as LED lighting. Oh, and the two year warranty -- that's probably worth something in terms of peace of mind. So, I guess that means that I'd likely need to pay much closer to MSRP in order to land that unit than I would the GD. The weight class seems right for my TV, too. The OR I mentioned is a RF338RLS, 2014 model.Re: Truck Dually Wheels10 pages in, and while I don't have anything constructive to add, I have found this thread very informative and hugely entertaining. Thanks, y'all.
