JRscooby, The Cabelas at Sydney NE has a good CG. The back row has electrical only hookups that seldom get used. Log in to RVParky.com, its free and type in Pine Bluffs, WY, its right on the border. I also own a GD 21G that will trip any ground fault plug that I plug into. From reading on the Grand Design Forum it seems that every GD with an installed generator has this same problem. One member reported that GD told him the problem was that the neutrals for the RV and the generator were bonded together at the generator transfer switch causing the problem and gave him a fix. I will not try to restate that fix here. The fix should come from GD and be done by dealer / service tech.539Views0likes0CommentsRe: AR - Choosing a Site for Family - Petite Jean - other?
Petit Jean SP is one our favorite when we take our 7 yr old granddaughter camping with us. Area "A" is all FHU (full hookup) and lots of area for kids to run around and play. Areas B, C & D are more rustic, close together in the woods and have water & electric only. Great hiking trails. For old buildings there are a couple in the park. About 40 miles from the campground at the community of Pottsville is the "Potts Inn" built in 1857 and used as a Butterfield Stagecoach stop until the start of the Civil War. Serval other old buildings there also. Google it. For a future trip check out Craters of Diamonds SP. About 30 miles south of there is Old Washington SP. A whole town that is a State Park. There are tours of the old houses. fantastic gun museum and blacksmith shop. The community goes back to the early 1800's. This was on the road to Texas so a lot of history. suggest you visit www.arkansasstateparks.com and check on availability for the dates you plan to visit. Also print out the brochure for the park for maps and details. The main portion of the park is located on the Russellville side of Lake Dardenelle with 57 campsites with fishing piers and hiking trails. The smaller portion is located city of Dardanelle side of the lake. only has 18 campsites. The Russellville side is a lot nicer. Arkidog312Views0likes0CommentsRe: Rockwood Fifth Wheels
The DW and I own a Rockwood Sig. UL 5W. Traded our Keystone Passort for it back in March of this year. Completed our annual out west trip (21 days) on 23rd of May. 3800 mile tow. Ours has the two recliners in rear that we really like for end of day relaxation. Only a couple of minor problems. The hotwater heater does not heat as good on gas only as it does on electric only. Have just been using gas / elec at same time until it get it figured out or take it back to dealer. Other problem is that the black tank drain line, due to location of the black tank, does not get flushed when you drain the grey water tank. Thought the black tank drain valve was leaking but was not. Must use the tank flush connection or at least flush a couple full toilet loads of water down with the drain valve open to get the drain line flushed out. The 5er is a lightweight. A sticker on the bumper says you'll void the warranty if you add any weight to the bumper. They have the torsion flex axles, no springs. Had a flat west of Tulsa, Ok due to road debris. A good kid in some company van waved us down before any damage was done to the trailer. Have ordered a Tire Pressure monitoring system for installation . I'm towing with the reese revolution sidewinder pinbox which was great not to worry about tight turns but I was getting minor sway in heavy cross winds. Oh ya, the bed is really comfortable. During our annual trip out west last month we passed five transporters towing. 3 pulling TT's west of N. Platte, Ne, a large TH 5W north of Casper, Wy and a long goose neck with two TT's strapped down on it in western Montana. All were going 65 mph because I was towing about 65 to 66 mph. I played leap frog with the large TH 5W for about 100 miles. I'd slowly pass him on the upgrades and he would slowly pass me on the downgrades, I was towing a lot less weight than him. Can always tell that they are transporters with white sign on each front door. Led me to believe that these guys are running with governed (sp?) engines set at 65 mph.381Views0likes0Comments
