I never used or would consider using bags to level at camp. I parked on as many 3/4 inch pieces of plywood under tires as necessary.Re: Air Bags/Springs - Firestone, Air Lift or?I have firestone air bags and will not run them with over 5psi when empty, rides rough when I do. When I first got the camper I would run 60-65psi and after a while I realized we were hauling on balloons and not working the suspension correctly. I then began to run whatever air needed to have the overload springs just making contact, that was a big improvement in ride. I also have torklift quick disconnect stableloads and those are great. They turn out and make no contact whatsoever when not needed. When loaded, I run way less air in the bags now, maybe 15psi. Together they work great, if I were to pick just one the stableloads would be my choice.Re: Bedliners revisitedI will clarify my comment. I did the Line-X spray in and 15 years later my bed is still in great shape. I will never have a truck without it or some kind of permanent liner. I forgot to say why I have the rubber bed mat, I have a removable Pingel motorcycle wheel chock in the truck bed, when the chock is out there is a metal plate still bolted to the floor. The mat stopped the plate from wearing through the camper floor. If I did not have the wheel chock I would not have used a mat at all.Re: Bedliners revisitedI have Line-x and a heavy duty rubber bed mat, never had shifting issues.Re: Drop camper to launch boat?We sold our truck camper in December :( but the whole purpose we had it to begin with was to be able to tow our boat to the lake, drop the camper at the site and launch/recover the boat at our convenience without needing to break camp every time. With electric jacks it was off/down and level in 13 minutes. I never launched or recovered the boat with the camper on.Re: GM 2500 and TH ownersEntirely up to you but there are not a lot of lightweight 5th wheel options and knowing how mine handles the weight I wouldn't want to try it.Re: Loose chairs coolbreeze01 wrote: Have to move them forward to get the RZR in. Don't tie them down and no issues. Same hereRe: GM 2500 and TH ownersI have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 extended bed with a gas 6.0 motor and automatic transmission. For almost 8 years I carried a Lance camper that weighed 3200 pounds wet but was probably closer to 3500 most of the time. If you go by the sticker and take all of the other passenger weights and add to cargo I can carry 3200 pounds, tow max is 10,200. I also had bigger tires to allow for the extra weight. I would struggle up hills going as low as 45 but not running the rpm's high. MPG as low as 7 but often around 10. We just sold it in December and now I have a hitch pull toyhauler that has a max weight of 9980. I went back to stock tire size to hopefully regain some mpg. We went out over New years weekend nearly fully loaded and I could climb at 50mph but again, not pushing the rpms all the way up. Mileage is ranging from 7-10 still. I hope this helps you in your questions. It is a great truck but if you have the option for something more powerful you should not hesitate. I would not attempt to pull a 5th wheel with it.Re: GM 2500 and TH ownersWhat motor would you be looking at with the 2500HD?Re: Electric blanket wattage ratingOur queen size dual control electric blanket is rated at 360 watts.
