If interested, please send me a message GeorgeRe: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07The fix that Dometic is using is at best a bandaid fix. There is only one way to really fix Dometic (and Norcold) problem is to replace the cooling unit with a remanufactured unit made by rvcoolingunit.com or someone simalar. If you replace the entire refrigerator with a new Dometic or Norcold you can still have the same problem. If the rest of the refrigerator is in good shape, just replace the cooling unit. GeorgeRe: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07When the refer starts to leak, what is leaking is ammonia and hydrogen gas. The hydrogen gas is explosive and the ammonia is toxic. Sounds like a proplem to me. GeorgeRe: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07My "kit" was installed by Camping World. I finally got a chance to take the cover off and look at the installation. The cutoff fuse and bracket is behind the boiler tube, almost not accessible. It would be very difficult to bend the ears away from the boiler tube. GeorgeRe: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07I guess the repair kit is better than nothing. However there is only one way to prevent the refer from catching on fire, buy a new refrigerator. In the mean time, check your refer very often for signs of yellow dye. GeorgeRe: CELL PHONE INTERNET ACCESSI have Verizon NationWide wireless service and a trimode phone. I purchased a $15 USB cable on EBay. The cable came with a driver disk. That is the only software needed. The cellphone acts as the modem. Yesterday I tried my home landline on my laptop, got about 34Kbps. Then I hooked up my cellphone and called the same dialup number, got about 115Kbs. Sure is a lot slower than my DSL connection is but good enough when on the road. George
