This is our first camper and we love it. it is one of the lightest of the pop-ups and since you are from California, you should visit their plant and All Terrain, which is in the same location. Hallmark and Outfitter make high end pop-ups that are high quality and they are both in Colorado. Good luck.Re: Use of sawhorses for support homefor2 wrote: I built the plywood X system and made the mistake of just using the 4 ft. sections of plywood. When placed under the camper they did not go all the way across the bottom to the outside edge of the camper. Result was punching a hole in the bottom of the camper skin. Repair was $1000.00 and luckily covered by insurance. I now use three 2 X 6 saw horses 5 ft across very well constructed and then lay an eight ft. 2X 6 full length along the edge where the camper sits. They are tall saw horses so I don't have to lift the camper after it's off the truck. This was the suggestion by the company that repaired the camper. It may be overkill but no more punching holes in my camper. I was planning on using the plywood "X's" but placing a full sheet of 3/4" plywood over the top so the camper is fully supported by the plywood. I got the impression that that you set the camper directly over the "X's". You didn't mention anything about using plywood. Could you clarify. Thanks.Re: truck bed matThere is a company that will make the mat to fit your pick-up bed. 3/8" or 1/2". The freight was almost as much as the mat, and the total for a F-250, 8' bed (1/2" mat) was around $250. Fortunately FWC is happy with a spray in bed liner prior to install so I don't need to have a mat. They do have different sizes. Didn't see what type of camper you have. Obviously a hard size Lance, Bigfoot or other would need something like the pictures you have posted. http://www.carportsandmore.com/10X15x8_Auto_Shelter-_1-3-8-_4-Rib_Frame-_Tan_Cover.htmlInverter - Inverter/ChargerThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 27404915Inverter - Inverter/ChargerDuring my review of Four Wheel Camper, I noticed that they didn't offer an inverter. I called them and they said it wasn't an option. I told them that I need 110 to run my CPAP breathing machine and that I also wanted to have a flat screen TV and microwave. They said I could purchase a inverter at an electronic store that I can plug into the 12V and then plug my accessories into the inverter. Is it an inverter or inverter/charger I want? What brands and what size is needed to run a microwave and TV? My CPAP machine doesn't draw that much. I like the pricing of Four Wheel, but their options are limited and this will mean I will have to add as needed.Phoenix or Four Wheel Pop-UpI'm looking for information on Phoenix and Four Wheel Pop-Up Campers. I really like what Hallmark and Outfitter have with options and construction but the cost is pretty steep. It appears that both Phoenix and Four Wheel have aluminum box frames, but I don't know whether there is a lot of wood in the walls or roof. The siding and roofing material wasn't that clear. One of these had a rear mounted wall air conditioner, which is different. Love to hear what anyone might add with their experience on either of these manufacturer's.Out Door ShowersAre there out door shower use restrictions? In checking different campgrounds, the only place I found anything mentioned was Rocky Mountain National Park and you can't use an out door shower. Curious what everyone's experience has been.Alaskan Pop-Up CampersI have spent the last year researching Hallmark and Outfitters. I'm also looking at the Alaskan 10' hard side pop-up. I would like to hear back from anyone with experience with Alaskan campers. I plan on visiting Hallmark & Outfitters, but would like feedback on Alaskan.Re: Rear Hitch Carrier w/CamperThere is a company called StowAway Carriers. http://www.fasttrackracks.com/store/p/555-StowAway-MAX-Hitch-Cargo-Carrier.aspx They have several upgrades. The unit will hold 200 pounds and has a locking system and will swing out of the way to allow access to your stairs. You can get LED lights. It fits a 2" hitch.
