And we're definitely taking the mountain bikes.Crested Butte RV ResortWe're looking to stay in Crested Butte this summer and the Crested Butte RV Resort looks like the only place close. From their website it appears they have no dump station, but from what I've read, a pumper truck can come out to drain the tanks. Also, from a satellite view, the place looks like it's in a light commercial area. The pictures on their website look great, but I'm looking for any advise/reviews/comments from anyone that has stayed there. Thanks in advance.Re: What's the best deal you've gotten on a campground? You have to be 62 for the Geezer pass??!!??? DAMN IT! I'm still too young.Re: Another Yellowstone questionWe were at Yellowstone in mid-June and stayed at Fishing Bridge CG. The spacing is close but not too tight. We have been in way tighter CGs (Pismo Coast Village). We spent a lot of time driving back and forth to the main geyser/hot spot areas on the west side of the park. It took close to an hour to get to the Old Faithful area from Fishing Bridge via the road along Yellowstone Lake. Many reviews say the park is less crowded in June than July. That may be true but it seemed very crowded even in June. It was more often than not we could not get a parking place in some of the main geothermal areas on the west side, usually having to wait in a traffic line just to circle the spaces waiting to get lucky. If you want to do a lot of geyser viewing, you may want to consider Grizzly RV. But please take into account the line to get into the park each day. We didn't have to deal with this at Fishing Bridge however. Then we were down in Jackson at the Virginian. It was a very nice and clean campground/RV park. I didn't not find the management rude in any way.Jackson WY to Provo, UTIn June we will be heading south out of Jackson, WY down toward Provo and then south to Bryce. Google Maps suggests two routes to Provo: 89 down to US-30, to 16, then I-80, then to 189 OR 50 miles or so on 89, then west on 34 to I-15, then south. From reading several other posts, it seems there are a few variations to each of these also. Can I please get some comments on these routes? Any info you can provide would be appreciated. We're pulling a 30' trailer with a 6.7L Cummins. I was wondering why the TL guide shows such low amounts. Older guides show similar low amounts on earlier model years. I mean 9,600 pounds for a diesel? My '03 Chevy 2500 6.0 is rated higher than that.2013 RAM 2500 and TL Towing guideI'm looking at the 2013 Trailer Life towing guide under RAM 2500. Turbo diesel 2500 LB Crew Cab 4x4, with 6sp auto and 3.42, it says 9,600 pounds??!!! All the weights seem low except for the gas engines. Page 22 of this guide. I was told that you have to check the box on the reservation screen and then you are taken to another screen describing Active Advantage. You have to check another box there before you are signed up. Sometimes these things are deceptive and easy to get mixed up, and I know that I don't want to get taken for something I had no desire to sign up for. I'm giving the number so people can call up for themselves if they want to. Miles The number on my credit card bill was 877-228-4881. It must go directly to their billing department. They must have changed the way it works because there is NO WAY the site gave me that many options to opt out. On the number above at some point the recording even says "for charges labeled ACT or Active on your bank statement please press 3", so they must be getting inundated with calls for this.Re: Reserve America $59.95 charge Oasisbob wrote: Yes, that's BS. What is active advantage? I am exactly the type of person who would miss the box and be charged. I wonder if it is a flat yearly reservation fee? That would be profitable for our family and would be interested but should be my choice not theirs. Makes you wonder why they do this? Active.Com is a site where you can find local running/cycling/triathlon events and sign up for them on-line. It is useful in that regard. Active Advantage is an annual subscription plan that among other things, gives you discounts to the running/cycling/triathlon events. I am not sure if it offers discounts to campgrounds as well. I guess sometime in the past Active.Com became affiliated with Reserve America. I am usually careful about checking and unchecking these boxes when necessary. But since I haven't had any issues with Reserve America, I wasn't as careful as I should have been.Reserve America $59.95 chargeI was perusing my credit card charges yesterday when I notice a $59.95 charge from ACT. I didn't know what this was so I did a bit of research. It turns out it is a charge for an Active Advantage membership that I inadvertently signed up for when making a reservation in April through Reserve America. I called and they removed the charge. Apparently I failed to uncheck a box that signed me up for it. I got one free month (which I didn't realize I had) then the $59.95 charge kicked in. This is a new thing they do I was told. This is kind of a BS tactic if you ask me, but if you have made campground reservations recently through Reserve America, please keep a close eye on your credit card bill. (I apologize if this has been covered in another thread but I didn't see anything)
