No slideouts though:) switching to two 6 volt batteries?I'm about to replace my two AF1150 batteries. They're currently Interstate Deep Cycle 12 volts wired in parallel. I'm thinking of going with two 6Volt golf cart batteries. Sam's sells the Duracell EGC2 for 150 bucks. Specs: 20 amp hour rate: 230 5 amp hour rate:174 Battery electrolyte composition: acid Battery end type: top post Battery purpose: deep cycle BCI group size: GC2 Freight class: 65 Minutes at 25 amps: 448 Minutes at 75 amps: 120 Terminal type: DIN Volts: six I was thinking that with the 2 two wired in series, I'd be better off on the Amp Hour rating. Any opinions? Thanks as alwaysRe: Carbon Monoxide alarm going offI don't think replacing them is going to help. They went down when you aired out the camper. They went down to zero in the house. If they were faulty they would not have changed. It won't hurt to pick up another detector and verify, but if the 3rd one goes off in the camper too, you can't just pass it off as a faulty detector anymore. One is possible. Two is unlikely. Three is unfathomable. I agree, but I'm going to try. Then I'm going to start removing things.Re: Carbon Monoxide alarm going offI called Northwood (Arctic Fox) and they're stumped too. I'm going to replace the units and see what happens.Re: Carbon Monoxide alarm going offUpdate: I brought the CO detector into the house and it went down to zero. Took it back out to the coach and within minutes, the alarm is going off. This is really strange. I'm going to call Northwood (Arctic Fox) later and see if they can shed any light.Re: Carbon Monoxide alarm going offYes, I'm sure they're doing their job:). What I'd like to know is why?? What's causing this? I thought about various fabrics "off gassing" etc, but there's nothing new in the TC. It's just sitting where it always sits waiting for use in Autumn. Thanks for all the tips and advice.Re: Carbon Monoxide alarm going offYup, I checked and replaced the batteries, and it's plugged into shore power. Plus when I opened up the coach and ran the fans, the levels dropped and the alarms stopped. ??Re: Carbon Monoxide alarm going offyes, thanks, I knew about the life span but these are both less than 2 years old. I've gone back and amended the original post. Thanks!Carbon Monoxide alarm going offI have two Carbon monoxide alarms. One just for CO and the other does CO and propane, and they're both going off. The CO, made by Kidde, is reading over 350ppm. What I don't understand is the TC camper is not being used, no generator, the propane tanks are closed and it's sitting under a carport as it always is. I should add that they are both less than 2 years old! I reset them both, and a couple of hours later, they're both going off. Any ideas? Again, no gen running, no cars nearby, the TC is closed with a dehumidifier inside. I'm stumped. ThanksRe: Just curiousFor what it's worth, I'm an engineer for a water purification company, and I've been doing water testing for over 33 years. I routinely drink water from my TC tanks. I sanitize the tanks at the beginning of every season with standard sodium hypochlorite (household bleach) and then flush them. I do have a high quality carbon block filter with a dedicated faucet for a slower flow rate, just to remove the possibility of tasting any residual chlorine, which will not hurt you, but I don't like the taste. I routinely test the water, just to satisfy my curiosity and every time, it's fine. Also, I only fill my tanks with water from my home because the entire house has a water purification/softening system. I prefer showering in soft water, but even if you're just using regular city/ or mud district water, you'll be fine. Just FYI, we routinely test bottle water, just for fun. Some are excellent, some are not, depending on whether or not you're concerned with calcium carbonate. Typically "spring water" does not test as well as water filtered by reverse osmosis. Hope this helps.
