All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutions2008 chevy suburban 6.0 LI am confused . Going to look at a suburban that's listed as a 1500 with. 6.0 L engine . I understand that this engine is an option on this vehicle vs the standard 5.3 L . I an trying to research this model and it keeps bringing up the 2500 model . So what's the difference between the 1500 and 2500 if both have the 6.0 L ??? The girlDonExpedition vs SuburbanWe are currently towing our 2013 Passport Elite 28bh with our LR3. We use a 4 point Equal-I-zer hitch and Prodigy brake controller. It actually tows well . But soon it'll be time to trade my vehicle in and I'm thinking having a secondary stronger tow vehicle won't hurt . The TT is 5460 actual dry weight, GVWR 7500, 30 feet long. The Expy is a 2009 with heavy duty tow package rated for 9100. The Suburban is a 2008 with tow up to 8100. Obviously the Suburban has a longer wheel base but 8100 tow seems low . I like things about both. Thinking we would be fine with either. Oh and as far as payload, they are pretty similiar. For now, not really an issue as it is 2 adults and 2 young children . All gear goes in the tt. Any thoughts ?? The GirlDONRe: Age or mileage ?What a lesson learned !!! I swear I couldn't make this up . We took the 2004 for a test drive and hubby took it out on the highway . Went through a toll and check engine light came on , car would not accelerate ! Rpms wouldn't go over 100 . Had to limp the truck over to side of road . Dealer had to send a car to pick him up . So I got my answer on this specific vehicle . Wow .Re: Age or mileage ?We are currently towing a 2013 Passport elite 28bh with a Landrover LR3. We use a 4 point E-Qual-izer hitch and Prodigy brake controller. It actually tows well but we are also safe and stay relatively close to home ... It seems like it would be nice to have a little more power though. Wheelbase would be greater as well ....Finding a used Armada this way is near impossible , it seems. And yes we are in the " salty place." Good point that I didn't really think about .....I am going to look at the 2004 again today for a closer inspection but I think we will just keep looking.Re: Age or mileage ?Yes it is re: a tv. The 2004 had 2 previous owners and was serviced here regularly at the local dealership & confirmed via Carfax. ( there were 39 service records available). I asked the dealer straight out why the miles were so low. He said that it was a family with 4 kids , it was Mom's vehicle and was used to ferry the kids around town. He even said that they traded in for a new Mini-van. Who knows if thats true.. Clean outside , a little wear inside but no stains, tears. etc. Dealer put on 4 new tires and new brake pads. It seems great , its just the age thats making me hesitant. And just asking what I think is a legit question, don't really want to get in to the whole tv debate.Re: Age or mileage ?Sorry Infiniti is apparently made by Nissan ..Re: Age or mileage ?Infiniti. 5.6 L gas engine .... And no giggling , I am learning all of this ....Age or mileage ?So in a quandry ..... Looking for a specific vehicle and came across some very different ones ....EX: #1) 2008 with 80,000 miles #2) 2004 with 50,000 miles #3) 2010 with 90,000 miles The 2004 actually drove the nicest and has a fantastic price but... Never bought a used vehicle that old !!! Is it about age or mileage ??? The Girl DONRe: Landrover towing part 2 ....WoodGlue, It wasn't very nice, was it? :DRe: Landrover towing part 2 ....Thats a great pic ! We actually bought our new TT today . We wound up with the 2013 Keystone Passport 28bh Elite. We are paying quite a bit to have a top of the line hitch put on. I have made my husband promise that If we are not happy with the way it tows, he will trade the Rover...:R We are very excited . We have been searching since last summer.
