I heve been doing thanksgiving potlucks in the desert for 20 years and wouldn't have it any other way. We always do a spriral cut ham (like honey baked) green bean caseral and something else. That's the fun of it cook and contribute what you can.

I wet the are over and over until the bugs soften up and just wipe them off, most other time I will wash the trailer early in the morning and the dew has softened the bug part and they just wipe off
Be careful on thanksgiving most everywhere in the desert goes nuts. It's hard to escape the crazies. I take the kids to dove springs and near by areas . I avoid the dunes and find it fairly easy to find a safe non party area for the kids to play just...
