Thanks for posting. Almost makes me want to break down in Vienna- almost. noe-place our Ford dealership can't fit RVs either. I think it's pretty common. It might be a good thing. You may have a point there. :BRe: Discovery after Transmission problemsThis somewhat restores my faith in mechanics. My local Ford dealership won't touch my V-10, E-450 on the Ford chasis because they say my RV is too BIG to fit through their garage doors !! So I go to a local over he road truck repair center for any engine/trans work and they are very professional happily.Re: Sarasota area cgWe just came back from a week in Sarasota-Bradenton. We stayed at the Buttonwood Inlet RV Resort on Cortez Road. It is about a mile from Anna Maria Island which has some of the best beaches I've ever seen. There are a couple of unique restaurants close by and all the usual. If you like to fish and swim, this is the place for you. The sites in the campground are full hookup and I was very happy to see there is ample space for a second vehicle next to our MH. They have their own boat ramp in case you need it along with fish cleaning facilities. They have only one bathhouse but it presented no problem for us. There is a fine 18 hole golf course about 4 miles down the same street as the campground and a nice par 3 course even closer on the same street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even let me use their clubhouse office tv to watch the Masters last week because they don't have cable at the rv sites.Re: Does anyone have a site map of Grand Canyon Railway RV Park?We were there in '08. The campground is a huge parking lot type layout with full amenities but NO shade. You MUST use a sewer hose snake or their security will issue a citation for this offense. It is close enough to town so you can walk to restaurants, site seeing since old Route 66 runs right through town, and a large grocery store. There is a playground on the south side of the campground and a nice golf course just north of town.Re: Ft. Myers/Ft. Myers Beach area campgroundsI think there is one in that area called Red Coconut RV Resort. They have some sites on the beach but most sites are across the street and only a short walk across. The sites are tight but if you like sand, water and sun it might be worth a look.Re: Bad Customer ServiceI like to see what's on the menu before I fill my plate. Especially if it's my plate.Re: Older does not always mean wiser so.......I made the mistake in 1997 of joining coast to coast or thousand trails or whatever name they go by these days. If you camp ALL THE TIME, then maybe it would work but otherwise forget it. Stupid computer double posted. Admin OK to delete but you knew that didn't you.Re: Older does not always mean wiser so.......I made the mistake in 1997 of joining coast to coast or thousand trails or whatever name they go by these days. There are activities at the campground. You might consider General Burnside Island State Park campground in just south of Somerset. It has many good sites with full h'ups, amenities including boat ramps, 18 hole golf course and good places to ride your bikes. Close to the Smokies as well.
