With such a short wheelbase (for a Semi), wouldn't that make the steering feel light?? My sisters L8000 had the trailer sit right over the axle. She had the truck where it would use either a 5th wheel or gooseneck. The axle is setup in the same place as the front axle when it was still a 3-axle truck. The short wheelbase, the front axle setback and a sharp front axle cut (55 degrees) makes it a very maneuverable truck, actually turning within the radius of a dually longbed. It's really very nice to drive with trailer on the back end.Re: Post your tow vehicle pics here Blackcell wrote: RaqiGirl wrote: 2005 Volvo VNL780 Wow, that's quite a setup and an interesting hitch setup. Based on the places I been with a outfit like yours I'm sure I would of taken out a few trees and several tenters. The idea of the hitch being so far behind the axle is two-fold. The first is that, in time, we are going to put a Smartcar cross-wise ahead of the trailer. Second, is maneuverability. Having the hitch so far back behind the axle gives very fine control over where the trailer is headed and, we sure don't need to be aware of unloading the front axle. ;)Re: Post your tow vehicle pics here 2005 Volvo VNL780
