I always marvel when a fellow RV'er passes me when I'm doing between 55 and 65. I know I could run along at 70 to 75, but what is the hurry?Re: How far do you travel per day?We made a trip to Alaska and drove 600 miles a day, quote Smokey and the Bandit, "A long way to go and a short time to get there." Not anymore about 300 is max. As I have gotten older I do not like to drive after dark.Re: Max speed towing.I agree with you, I always keep it around 65mph. Also, I believe you get the best mpg at 65.Sad dayThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29024378Re: major league parksThe DW and I are both from the St. Louis area. When we are back for a visit which usually includes a Cardinal game, we go about 40 miles south down Missouri highway 21 and get a campsite at the Washington County State Park. It is about a 30 to 40 minute drive back to STL. The campground has electrical hookups.Re: Air conditioner repair near Mt. Vernon, Ilinois?I've found the first thing the RV shop will say is "you need a new A/C unit." Usually they don't even attempt to repair.Re: Quick overnight stops in routeWe like to stay at Walmart and also Flying J. I've heard some people stay at Cracker Barrel, Hospitals, etc. One time years ago we pulled into a truck weigh station in Colorado. I try to stay away from interstate rest areas.Re: After market tow mirrorsI bought a 2007 Dodge Ram with the flip up towing mirrors that are electric. The first time I towed with this rig it was the first time in 20 years I was able to adjust the the right side mirror to where I wanted it.Re: Power Jack issuesA couple of years ago my power tongue jack quit working. I decided to use the crank for the rest of the summer. I took my trailer into the shop just before Thanksgiving. I told the service writer of the problem and also a couple of other issues. He walked outside with me looked at the jack reached under the trailer pulled the jack wire out took the fuse out wiped the ends and put it back in. Much to my amazement it has worked ever since. I did not know there was a fuse there and I just think of all the cranking I did that summer, I learned my lesson.
