I have done the reservation thing before and I have lost hundreds of dollars because we couldn't make it for one reason or other. We do reserve one day in advance if we can in some locations but for dates out several months, it hasn't worked out very well for us. Something always seems to come up to interfere. We don't mind campsites without utilities so that opens up a whole bunch of spots for you if you don't mind that.Re: Looking for opinions on Flaming GorgeWe stayed at Buckboard Crossing Flaming Gorge Campground National Rec. Area. 50amp, water, nice sites etc. Located at north end of area. Would stay there again. Had deer walking through campsite. Very nice.Re: Long Key State Park. Rat infestation.Pythons are moving into the area. They will have an abundant food supply. Then that nuisance will multiply. Better keep the cocker spaniel in then.Re: Slide out adjustmentThis is not normal for my trailer. It just did this a week ago. It always came in flat to the floor in the past. Now you can trip over it. It sticks up about 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Something is worn or out of adjustment. The room comes in tight against the seals and they are tight when it is out. The measurements I gave is for both sides of the slide when extended. I can't see where anything has slipped out of adjustment so maybe something is broken or worn in the floor. The box is square in the hole as far as I can tell. When the room is extended the floor is flush. I just never had this raise up like this before. The nylon sliders under the floor have some scuff marks on them like something is rubbing. It looks to me if the box is tipped up more the floor would be flush again. When the slide is in, the top is out 1 1/2 inches from a wall while the bottom is out 3/4 inch from the wall. That looks to be greater than it was in the past. I guess I will have to take it to the "experts" and that scares the heck out of me. Sometimes those guys make new problems.Slide out adjustmentI have a Forest River Flagstaff V-Lite trailer. We have been traveling several thousand miles over our nations rough highways. I think the rough roads have knocked my slide out out of adjustment. When I pull it in the floor of the slide is a couple of inches above the floor of the trailer. I measured the outside wall with it extended. The top is 38 inches. The bottom is 39 1/4 inches. To me it would seem the box should be adjusted up to push the floor down when it is in. I am not sure which bolts to loosen to make the adjustment. There is a screw to raise or lower the box. I would appear to me I would have to loosen the two bolts above it to make the adjustment. Anyone have any experience with this? I am attaching a couple of photos to help you see what I am saying. Re: Problem with trailer brakes Charlie D. wrote: Careful pulling the emergency pin. I have read that doing so while hooked up to truck can burn it up. Thank you for that bit of knowledge.Re: Problem with trailer brakesThanks for the in put. I'm going out this morning to see if I can trace it down. I know this sounds stupid, but I never thought of checking the fuse on the trailer. STFS still makes lots of sense. I have no power to any wheel so a fuse is probably top of the list. For some reason I always tend to think major before minor. Thanks again. I will post what I find.Re: Problem with trailer brakesEverything else powers up inside and out. I guess I will start at the emergency pin and see if I have power the then work my way back. I suspect possible bad ground. It has been sitting for 6 months in storage. Everything worked when I parked it.Problem with trailer brakesToday I hooked up to my trailer. I checked to see that my brakes were working. Nothing. I pulled the emergency pin to see it that operated them. Nothinig. I don't believe my problem is from the truck to the trailer plug. I have a new battery in the trailer that should have activated the brakes when the emergency pin was pulled.. Where do I start my search for the problem? Bad ground?Re: Good idea or horrible? darsben wrote: Crappy life for your child. Also concerned about really cold days. You would need a four seasons camper. BUT IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. IT is a crappy life for a kid. No privacy no place to have friends over. BUT TO ME MONEY IS NOT the most important thing FAMILY FIRST TO ME. 2X to above. Horrible. Wait till you retire. Then you will enjoy it.
