Atwood tanks can produce that smell from a reaction of hard water and the aluminum tank and being stagnant. Tried bleach flush and that didn't work for long. Read the manual and Atwood says to use vinegar. Worked well for 5 years so far.

Check the rear of the water heater. It may have a mixer valve that regulates the water temp. Same thing happened to us a few years ago. I turned the adjustment knob back and forth a few times and that fixed the problem.

Our Danby has this note in the manual. Maybe the same thing for yours. NOTE: IF THE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED, HAS LOST POWER, OR IS TURNED OFF, YOU MUST WAIT 3 TO 5 MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE UNIT. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO RESTART BEFORE THIS TIME DELAY, THE REFRIGERATOR- FREEZER WILL NOT START.

If it is the address bar you are referring to I just move the cursor down to the one I wish to delete (on mine it turns blue) and press the delete button on the keyboard. Don't know about adding an address though.

Instead of unplugging how about adding an ignition triggered continuous duty solenoid to the 12 volt wire to the 7 pin plug. Turn off truck, turn off power to/from RV.
