I've gotten as high as 11.5 and as low as 8.5 but long term it stays around 10Re: Have you switched from friction sway control to HA or P#?Time for me to give my $0.02. I just got back from a 9k mile trip over 48 days with my new to me Hensley. I didn't experience the hensley bump or any other issues despite having an emergency stop where I smoked the tires. Under normal driving conditions I didn't notice any difference between my old WD hitch and the hensley. However when you add a good cross wind the hensley shows it's worth.Re: Things learned on first cross country tripIf you have young kids plan on 250 miles or less every day. You will drive faster than you planned. Preparing meals while traveling is hard without a lot of planning in advance. The more tired you are the more likely the campground you pick is to have 1000 trains going by. The unplanned stops are the best. No matter how much you prepare, your vehicle can/will break down. Windy days are always crosswinds The more you need to do laundry the more likely that the next campground will not have facilities You will meet some amazing people, I ran into the same people 3 times (SD,OR,BC) BC has the worst drivers. Don't drive through Chicago if you can possibly avoid it. Do not stop for the night in Shelby MT unless you really like trains. Every town no matter how small has an auto parts store. The only reason you get full hookups is because that's what they have on the pull through sites. You'll want to spend another night and the site you are in will be booked. 48 days is too long to spend in a trailer with 3 kids and a dog. 48 days isn't long enough time to spend traveling with your kids and dog in a trailer....see above. You'll always want to go somewhere that wasn't part of the plan.Re: Need opinions about recaulking roofI will point out again here that when I had an insurance claim on my to two years ago the claims adjuster classified it as an improper repair and devalued my trailer it took more than 6 months of fighting with them to get paid the full amount.Re: I guess 80 mph is the new 65 mphI've been running hard for a few days at 68mph I've gone as high as 75 on some long down hill sections and I was stressing. I like to run at 65-68Re: Calgary AB to Spokane WaGreat thanks! I think we'll take 3 on the way down and the Trans Canada on the way back. This trip keeps expanding we may never make it homeCalgary AB to Spokane WaJust planning my route and streets and trips takes me on highway 3 to I95 is this going to be a reasonable route towing? Should I take the transcanada and double back instead?Re: Yikes! Rockey mountain special jerem0621 wrote: TXiceman wrote: Not a good combo. And I do not care what CanAm says about towing so much with so little tow vehicle. Ken there is nothing little about a Chrysler minivan. They have more interior room than a Tahoe. You can discount the 30 years of experience Can Am brings to the table. That's fine. However, there is NOTHING unsafe about that rig. It pulls, handles, and stops great. It's not an accident waiting to happen. Andy and crew have thousands of Minivan haulers set up on the road with millions of safe miles under their belts. Many of their customers are on their second and third minivan set up. Just because it's not 3 ft in the air and doesn't have a bed doesn't make it a bad tow vehicle. Many would be surprised just how well these vehicles tow when set up properly and matched properly to the correct trailer. Not all trailers work for a rig like this. There is so much more to safe towing than weight. Thanks Jeremiah How do they deal with gvwr and gvwr?Re: Yikes! Rockey mountain specialOk an update. It was setup by canam for an 18' hybrid he used to own and he upgraded to this trailer. The only issue he had was overheating in the mountains.Re: Yikes! Rockey mountain specialI'll ask if it's a canam setup today
