Sure, there might be a small amount of residual water in the lines somewhere, but not enough to cause damage to lines. The one gallon of rv antifreeze goes in the traps, and the rest in the holding tanks. No problems yet. Just take your time, don't rush thru it. But different strokes for different folkes.Re: Brakes sometimes work sometimes don'tHad the same problem as you, only no lights of any kind. Slow down brakes would barely stop, checked all my grounds and connections, still won't work right, so I took my trailer to a shop that specializes with trailer brakes, axles, and electrical. Find out the last person that worked on my brakes four years prior, pumped to much grease in the fittings and blew out all four seals. Had to clean everything up. Thought I might have needed new brake shoes, but original ones still in good shape. Work good now, might want to look into that.Re: Tip on the right toolI got rid of the nylon plugs, they would be hard to get stated after I had one break off then had to cut it out in pieces with a hack saw blade. Went to Home Depot and bought a brass plug. It starts a lot easier now with 17mm socket with a 6 inch exstention and 3/8 ratchet. Only need to snug it so it doesn't leak, also use Teflon tape. No problems.Re: Heavy Duty / Super Duty Truck as Daily Driver frisbeekev wrote: I have an f250 as my Daily driver and love it. Uses a little more gas, and you have to sometimes fold the mirrors in when parking, but plenty of room for the family. Boy isn't that the truth. Got to watch the mirrors every time I pull up next to the house, already clipped the downspout at least three times in one year of owner ship. But hey love the way it tows, no white knuckles here anymore.Re: Checkout my home made slideout drip rails.Thought about doing something like that a few years ago with aluminum trim, but never did it. I need to replace my top seal on my slide and may try to do something like yours, your idea is much better and looks like it came with trailer. Over the years I've looked at rv gutters, but they are very expensive, and look cheesy. You have designed something that is durable and will keep out water. I'm impressed.Re: Replacing Cable Waste ValvesHad to replace my valve with cable setup after it got to hard to close. Cleaned it up, put a little grease on it to help it open and close, but still was too hard to work, so I put a regular T handle on it. Works ok but I've got reach in to pull it open, would rather have the cable assembly. I'm thinking of trying the Bristol termination valve with cable, by La Salle Bristol mfg. This looks better than the Valterra termination valve. tried to link it, but didn't work. Check it out, and post some opinions.Re: Are used sewer hoses a prized commodity?Wow, a few years back somebody made off with my portable tote, and I thought was strange.Re: Major Dad hanging it upThank you for your service, and prayers are coming your way.Re: Tires - Load Range D vs EI just purchased new tires for my trailer, after one of my Goodyear Marathons blew out on me last fall. My tires are the same size as your tires in a load range D, but went with load range E for the first time. I did it because I thought why not, they will handle more weight even though I've always had load D, and my weight will probably be fairly close to what it says in my signature, but not over 8,000lbs. I don't care to much about the ride, but I wanted a decent tire, so I went with Carlisle HD in a load size E. So I'm about to find out how that's going to go. I wouldn't worry about E's if that's all they had, but that's your call. Good luck.Re: Ram 6.4L Hemi vs Chevy 6.0L vs Ford 6.2L (gassers) GeoBoy wrote: I really don't care about these test, I buy what I like and will do the job for me. X2, I love mine, and it does it's job very well.
