We like to do state camprounds alot..we dont have any issues now with our Yukon xl. but this is almost 2ft longer of a wheel base. We have a Chevy 15 passenger and 26' trailer. We have not had any problems in any state parks or campgrounds we have gone too, and I would not say that we are anything near experts in tight spaces. We do look at the campground map before reserving to make sure it looks reasonable, but I presume that if the site is listed as being long enough that we'll be able to get back there easier than a class A of similar size. Where we have run into problems is gas stations, and now we plan ahead there mainly by going to Flying J's with the RV lane. A couple pieces of advice for these: take out a front row for storage rather than the back row (you'll feel like you're about to get run over loading groceries) and if you're going to be doing any mountains, upgrade to the new higher temp transmission fluid. We've done many mountains just fine with a 5.7L gas with 4 speed transmission and 3.73 back end.Re: Thermostat wiring delemaHere's a link to what I did last year http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27482418.cfm. It only took about 10 minutes and works great. You don't have to really worry about the fan. Most have two speeds, but just wire the one you want and put a wire nut on the other. Do you really need to be able to switch between high and low fan? I don't. The thermostat runs about $35 through Amazon, but seems better to me than anything I have seen others post on here.Re: This is our TT, what the heck can tow it??We have six kids, about the same ages in our 1999 Express 3500 5.7L V-8 3.73. We pull a 5000 pounds (unloaded) trailer just fine. I would definitely, though, want at least the 7.1L Chevy or the V-10 Ford with the weight you have. You really don't need a dually, though. Plenty of people are pulling similar rigs just fine, and your tongue weight is not horrible. Do remember, keep it out of overdrive when towing, and downshift in the mountains.Re: Towing VehicleI had a coworker destroy his transmission pulling a small utility trailer with his Odyssey. I would never pull anything with a sedan or minivan unless I was prepared for that possibility. Keeping it out of the highest gear will help your transmission to stay cool.Re: National Parks Pass Gene&Ginny wrote: JBinOR wrote: If you look at their FAQ, you get two passes with one $80 purchase. So, even if you want two, you already get it. http://store.usgs.gov/pass/annual.html I think is says there can be two pass owners. You might want to look at this line at the above link also: 5.My family is traveling in two vehicles; will one Annual Pass let all of us into the site? No. Only the vehicle with the pass owner is covered. The second vehicle is subject to an entrance fee, or must have (or buy) a second pass. True. So get one for you, one for your spouse, put one in each vehicle.Re: National Parks PassIf you look at their FAQ, you get two passes with one $80 purchase. Obviously not a deterrent, but they would not make it very far at all.Re: Editing a 'doc.x' with Word 2003 Bluegrass Ranger wrote: Microsoft provided the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Office 2003 to access the .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx file formats that were standard with Office 2007 and newer. I believe the download is still available even though support for Office 2003 ended earlier this month. Try Googling "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack download". There should be a link there. If you can download and install it there won't be anymore problems with the ...x format files. x2. I had to do this too at a previous job.Re: Torque, HP, gas mileage upgradesCompletely agree that it will not be worth your time and money, and I have done a lot of research into this, but if you are just talking about the K&N air filter, not CAI, that's something I would do. I put these into my car and TV. They do give just enough extra performance that you can barely notice if you drive it every day, they're cheap, and pay for themselves in reuse.
