Also, I will some how have to repair the coax end that got ripped off with the antenna. AM reception (not talking about amplitude modulation transmission) is usually not a problem. However, FM reception range is limited, higher quality but shorter range. One option for a fairly low (but not small antenna), yet with 4db gain, 360 all-around, (50 miles reception) is a round dipole. Omnidirectional FM Reception Antenna Just under $30, not so cheap, but solid and easy to install, and found it good to resist high winds.:) Comes with a 75 ohms female coaxial cable connector. Mounted mine on a telescopic fiber-glass painter's pole at the rear to extend the reception range.Re: wifi antenna hellbird503 wrote: I am looking for recommendations on a wifi antenna. Had good wifi at this park until I got a new neighbor, who is blocking the signal. Had a similar problem. WiFi signal is essentially line-of-sight signal. To fix the problem, you need to get an antenna aiming directly at the WiFi hotspot. One simple and inexpensive solution is to built an antenna with a tin can (like a coffee can) and mount it on a telescopic painter's pole. Instead of tinkering with a can, I got the TP-Link grid antenna with a 24dBi gain attached to a fiberglass painter's pole from HomeDepot.Re: Communications Equipment / RadiosYou could also use a small mobile dual VHF/UHV antenna. Cheap, very easy to setup and works relatively well. When fixed (not mobile), I like the Comet GP-9 antenna. High-gain, works really well.Re: Dash CamTalking about security and insurance, an interesting dashcam has this not only for driving but when parked as well. The new Thinkware F50 dashcam has a parking surveillance mode to record in case something is disturbing the vehicle, found that an interesting feature. Another cool feature is a thermal sensor if it is too hot, which is often a problem in full sun all day. And also, I like the speed and red light detection! :WRe: GPS Questions SGTJOE wrote: 1. Best GPS for RVs I plan to get the new Garmin GPS, the Gramin Rino 755T , available third quarter. The 750 is available Sept.7, less expensive but less features. The 755T will have GPS/GLONASS compatible with 5-Watt FRS/GMRS two-way radio and weather tracking system with built-in NOAA radio. 8 MP camera, built-in LED flash/torch 4 AA-battery pack for up to 18 hours. So, yes it is expensive, but considering that it is a GPS, communication radio, weather emergency radio, flashlight and camera.Re: CB Radio antenna mounting Kidoo wrote: Hi, I am looking for information about mounting a CB antenna on a class A. I do not plan to use this set up for very long, just for a trip with a bunch of others with CBs. For a temporary and simple setup, have you considered a glass-mount antenna like the Midland 18-258 40-Channel CB glass-mount antenna.Re: Solar Battery Charger ?? JoeH wrote: We store our unit under a covered storage spot. ... a solar charger that I could mount to the roof of the building Instead of being permanently mounted, you could use a panel with a pole mount . Did that with a Renogy 100 Watts 12 Volts monocrystalline panel. Easy to setup and also to rotate to get maximum sunlight.Re: Security Camera QuestionI use the Amcrest IP2M-841 Friendly user interface on iPhone and Android to setup the Wi-Fi, motion detection, email alert and also night vision.Re: How we make RV pizzaThere is the Pizza Pronto Stove Top To cook a mid-size pizza in around 20 minutes.
