It appears to hold very well if you clean the surface that it adheres to. Previously I made the repair with the silver HVAC tape but it lasted only 1 year.Re: Hehr window alternativesI have had fogged windows repaired here: Sun Coast Designers. The only problem for someone living in Maine is the fact that they are in Florida. I live in Western New York (Buffalo area) but winter in Fort Myers,Fl. Last year on the way down to Fort Myers I stopped at their facility to have a window repaired. Their service was excellent. They have several sites for customers to stay on (at no cost) with electric and water hookups while work is being done. My window was repaired and reinstalled in one day and I was on my way. The warranty they give is better than what the manufacturer (Hehr) gives on a brand new replacement window. I highly recommend them. Rick A.Re: Have you replaced your roll out vent windows yourself?I am having a dual pane window repaired here:http://suncoastdesigners.com/. I have had several friends have their windows repaired and they have been very satisfied. Plus the warranty they offer is actually better than the original window manufacturer (Hehr) gives on a brand new window at a much lower price than purchasing a new window. Another plus is that you can stay overnight, with a 50A hook-up, at their facility while the work is done. My window is being repaired on 10/30/14 on my trip down to Fort Myers Fl. from Western NY.(Buffalo). The cost of my repair is about $250 in total. The cost of course varies with the size and type of window. If their location is a deal killer for you, you might do a web search to see if their are similar facilities located more conveniently for you.
