I did a test last weekend. Heading to the camp ground tow haul on 11.6 mpg Heading home tow haul off 10.4 mpg. I could definitely hear and feel the transmission shifting a lot more.

One of the guys had to replace the transmission on his F150 he blamed the mountains. I bet he was not using tow haul while driving in the mountains.

Tow Haul Mode
I have a F350 4x4 long box diesel. I always used tow haul when I towed our fifth wheel. We have now downsized to a tow behind TT. The friends we camp with have TT and they never use tow haul because they get worse mileage when they use tow haul. One has a F150 v6 and the other has a Ram 1500 with hemi. What is the story with tow haul mode and travel trailers? All 3 travel trailers are 19 ft and around 6500lbs.

Anderson weeight distribution hitch
The wife and I are downsizing to a travel trailer from a Fifth wheel. What are the thoughts on the Anderson weight distribution hitch. We like the anderson ultimate hitch for the fifth wheel, so I am thinking the wd hitch will also be good.

My drive way slopes a little where I park the camper. Even in the bed of the truck it is hard to get a good scrub on the nose.

Sorry about now responding in such a long time. Both friends decided to get generators in the last second. After all they decided that air conditioning would also be needed.

Landing gear all the way down.
My nose cone needs a good washing. I was thinking about lowering the landing gear all the way down to provide a lower height to wash the nose cone. What is the chance that when the gear is down I will not being able to raise the gear all the up again?

The batteries are the cheap batteries the dealer puts in the camper when you pick it on delivery. One guy the dealer forgot to wire the second battery up. We will be camping on an island in the Mississippi river and there is always lots of son. From my past experience the batteries on my camper never last past midday Friday if we arrived Thursday morning. I never had solar panels before though.

12 vdc fridge
2 friends of mine have purchased new campers that have 12dc only refrigerator in them. They both came with 50 watt solar panel on the roof. They are figuring on boondocking 4 or more days with only 2 batteries to keep the fridges running. Is this possible?
