I still enjoy this site but maybe others have found alternatives as well.Re: Hitch ball greaseI grease the ball every time and clean it off when I unhitch. I use a tube of synthetic grease and use about two small tubes per season.Re: Do they make such-a-thing?Our TT came with a fixed wall mount that meant that if you sat on the sofa you had to watch at nearly a 90 degree angle. We replaced it with a very nice moreryde mount that swings out and tilts. It locks in place for travel.Re: NewfoundlandWe we went in early June. During that time we saw plenty of icebergs but no whales. We wanted to see both but the rest of the trip made up for that. If you are military or retired military there are discounts for you and a number of passengers on the ferry (passengers only - not the RV)Re: Algonquin Provincial Park - power accessAll I can say is WOW! Paying $50 and needing 2 or more extension cords...wow.Re: Newfoundland VTLee wrote: We have been there twice, most recently in May 2014. The province has an excellent travel guide that you should order. We took the short ferry and when you arrive the Grand Codroy RV park is a great place to start (and finish) your vacation. There are many festivals in the summer and don't miss the boat ride in Gros Morne National Park. You have to walk about 3K to get to the boat but it is worth it. Newfoundland is very RV friendly and many towns have municipal campgrounds which are inexpensive and scenic. I can't recommend the Grand Codroy campground highly enough. If it was in Nova Scotia we would be there every weekend.Re: Algonquin Provincial Park - power access toedtoes wrote: I don't see anything that says that. Could you link to where you found that info? When you pull up a site in the reservations it gives info on that site. Every site I look at says the distance to the power is 30 meters. I picked this site at random but its the same as all the others I saw: Site Type: Campsite Fee Type: Premium Rate Site fee for selected dates (discounts may apply): $101.14 (Incl HST) Service Type: Electric Electrical Service: 15/30 Amps Outlet Distance (m): 30 Site Length (m): 10 Site Width (m): 15 Site Shade: Partial Shade - PM Sun Quality: Average Privacy: Poor Conditions: Above Avg. Vehicular Traffic, Above Avg. Pedestrian Traffic Ground Cover: Soil Fire Pit Location: Back Left Adjacent To: Beach, Water TapAlgonquin Provincial Park - power accessWas checking out Algonquin park and it seems to say that the power pedestals are 30 meters from the site. Is this right? Do people really need nearly 100 feet of power cable and extensions?Re: Unfriendly customs officers :(This summer we crossed the border with our cat. In the bed of the truck we had a bag with stuff from the litter box. Border agent asked if it was poop... I said yes and went to open it. He backed off of it like it was Ebola. That ended the vehicle check. You get good and bad no matter where you go. Someone could be having a really bad day. You don't know what kind of attitude the guy before you gave the agent. Sucks that he wasn't more friendly but border agents (American or Canadian) have a responsibility to protect the country they represent. Some are a little more serious when they do it. Whenever we cross back into Canada my favourite part is when they say "Welcome Home".Re: Trans Canada trip: Nova Scotia to CalgaryMany private RV open the beginning of May in the Halifax area. Provincial campgrounds open the Victoria Day weekend (reservations required for water and electric sites open 02 April) I recommend Graves Island Provincial Park in Chester and MacLeod's Beach Campground in Cape Breton (Near the Cabot Trail)
