Toronto to Vancouver Mid-NovemberIt looks like I should definitely winterize if leaving in November. I hope it's not too difficult of a procedure. I didn't really consider that the mountain passes in AB/BC might be quite bad in November. Is the Montana/Idaho/Washington route safer at that time of year? I am also considering leaving now and flying back for the wedding I have in November.. just hard to justify the additional cost of flying. Will plumbing freeze? Toronto to Vancouver Mid-NovemberHello, I am planning on taking my first long trip with my new 5th wheel from Toronto to Vancouver in mid-November. I am planning on using all facilities once I get to Vancouver, I am just worried about freezing along the way (through the mountains and across Canada). I have also never winterized as I am a new owner. 1) Should I winterize before leaving? (I am going to Vancouver with above-freezing temps during winter) 2) Would it make any sense to travel through the US instead of Canada to avoid cold weather and winterizing? (I do not wish to have an excessive detour as it is already a 40 hour trip)Re: Breakdown InformationaRe: Towing on 2010 ram 6.7 dieselThanks for all the responses everyone. It seems like most people believe the truck will certainly pull the weight, and the opinion on whether or not it is safe is quite mixed. However, most people claiming it is safe are the people who actually exceed GVWRs and vice versa. I do believe I would most likely be fine pulling a large trailer with the 2500, but I'm almost certain that pulling within the ratings will result in better performance and possibly some reduced liability. I have noticed that 2011+ superduty's have quite high ratings. I think I will save my money for now and try out the gasser, which I hear will give me less problems than diesel, then reevaluate if I choose to trade in my trailer in the future. Just makes more sense to buy a truck with proper ratings if I am going to invest an additional 40% on that truck. If it was the same price, I wouldn't have to think twice.Towing on 2010 ram 6.7 dieselHello all, Debating on getting a ram 2010 6.7 2500, Crew, 3.42 RFE. One model here has 130k miles. Planning on using it for 5th wheel RV towing. RV is about ~10k. According to rambodybuilder, payload is 2400 and towing capacity is under 10k (which are pathetic btw) Considering getting a gasser (6.2 ford or similar) for considerably less money (20k vs 28k $CDN). It just seems hard to justify the cost difference. My thought is that the 6.7 may give me some room to grow if I upgrade my trailer in the future. Questions: Whats the reliability like on 2010 6.7? How far can I push this truck, can I go to a 20k trailer safely? Enough power? (even though its rated under 10k) Even though payload is 2400, can I put 3k pin weight plus cargo safely? (w/ tire ugrades + airbags)buying/installation of pullrite superglideHello, first post here and a new 5th wheeler. I am thinking of buying a used Pullrite superglide for about $400CDN with rails attached. the rails don't appear to be the pullrite easy remove ones. My truck is a 2011 F-250 shortbed. Is there any way of testing the hitch before installing? What kind of brackets do I need to buy? Are they specific to the rails/hitch or industry standard?
