Any testing available? If it gets a salvage title you will not be able to get it licensed thru the DMVRe: Water pump continues to run onI had a similar issue... Replaced water pump, check valve for city water, and tightened water connections and problem still existed. Turned out to be the fresh water pick-up hose from the from the holding tank to the water pump. The fitting on the pump was tight but the clamp that held the hose to the fitting was a little loose... It was letting a little air get into the line causing an air pocket in the pump. I tightened the clamp and the problem was fixed. Check the hose fittings... If tight, you have a leak somewhere between you fresh water tank and output of your water pump. By the way, when I was hooked up to city water I had no problems with loosing pressure, only when I ran off the pump.Re: replacing 15" tiresI went from ST225/75 R15 LR-D to LT 225/75 R16 LR-E two years ago. Upgraded to 16" rims. You need to make sure your trailer can handle 16" tires and wheels. I don't know of any 15" LT tires.Re: LT tires on TT smkettner wrote: I suggest a tire and wheel load capacity to support the full trailer GVWR. LT is always better than ST IMHO. Have him post the trailer GVWR and oem tire spec for best suggestions. TT GVWR is 9000 and current tires are ST225 75 R15 LR-D and he wants to go to LT225 75 R 16 LR-E. New rims are rated to 90psiLT tires on TTI was telling a buddy of mine how I upgraded my TT tires from ST's to LT's (Michelin RIBS) and he would like to upgrade to LT's also. He asked if he could go to any LT tire as long as they had the correct load carrying capability. I don't know the answer and thought I'd post it here for your opinions. Thanks in advance for you comments.Re: Hitch choices ??'06 GMC 2500HD with Reese Dual CamRe: Tire Air Pressure youngone wrote: Just picked up my new GMC 2500 6.0. Tire are Michelins size 265/70/R18E. Tires are set from dealer at 70lbs. What is the best tire pressure for towing my 8000lb TT. Max PSI is 80lbs Truck is used more for everyday driving. Also for everyday driving what is best tire pressure for ride and wear. Thanks! I run 80psi in tv when towing and 65psi not towingRe: Towing Capability Question Ridgerunner29 wrote: It appears that a Chevy 1500 5.3 has a higher towing capability than a Chevy 2500 6.0. Chevy site says a 1500 CC std box 5.3 3.73 4X4 will tow 11700 lbs. 2500HD CC std box 6.0 3.73 4X4 will tow 9400 lbs. Am I reading the data wrong? Is there any engineering explanation for these towing specs that seem to defy logic? Or is this just one of the marketing strategies for the 150 / 1500 market. I thought the society of auto engineers had come up with a method for establishing standards for tow ratings for light trucks. It looks like the sales side of the company is not listening to the engineering side of the company. Or maybe I'm missing something that I should be able to clearly see. WhenI looked at the GM web site it says: 1500 (with max trailering pkg) 11,500 tow capacity 2500 HD 13,000 conventional tow and 17,800 5th wheel tow I think the 9,400 lbs you reference for the 2500 is the GVWRRe: TT AND TV, what do you have?See sigRe: shocks TECMike wrote: Also vote for Bilstein.
