Thanks for the info..Re: Generator Shutdown - Weid Event.Re: Electric steps for RV that did not come with themWell that's odd. If they have circuitry for the warning light, why not have an ignition signal wire for the step motor? Oh well...Re: Electric steps for RV that did not come with themThat would be much easier. You ever catch yourself wanting to step down before checking if the step is there? My last RV had the automatic steps. I'm still getting used to the manual steps on this current RV. I do miss the powered steps more than I thought I would.Re: 2006 Grayhawk Ford e450 v-10: Power increase"Depends what you call better." Driveabilty. Downshifting to 4k rpm every 3-4 miles was miserable. We're not talking NO2 boost here, just better power management. I wouldn't expect Ford engineers to be able to ship one ECM program that is perfect for all drivers/applications. You seem concerned about the transmission stress. I'd much rather pull a transmission than an engine. In the bigger picture, I think proper maintenance like clean fluids and changing the filters regularly is the best thing you can do for engines/transmissions. "You don't get more horsepower for free." Eh, I'm not so sure Ford had my RV at the top of they're list when optimizing the ECM patterns. It's not all about HP anyway. I get what you're saying about after market mods, but when you have users posting improvements w/o increasing fuel consumption (sometimes even improvements), you're really just talking about better power management.Re: Generator Shutdown - Weid EventAre you sure the condenser on the AC is still working? You could be feeling just the fan blowing without the condensor doing it's job. The start/run capacitor may be blown. A visual inspection would likely show a blown capacitor. They're cheap. Buy two and keep a spare. It's an easy fix, and they go out all the time, especially in the heat when you need the AC the most.Re: 2006 Grayhawk Ford e450 v-10: Power increaseI also purchased the 5 Star Super Tune, and I LOVE it! Noticeable increase in power and shifts LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO! I'm usually pulling a ski boat and the downshifting was ridiculous. Even when not towing, the slightest upgrade would cause the downshifting. The Super Tune is money well spent. You'll definitely see results.Re: Electric steps for RV that did not come with themI've looked into this, and will be doing this mod soon. The power steps are not an issue, but the controls will be a job.. switch button in the door jamb Switch on the wall signal from the ignition switch Power to the steps. All pretty straight forward, but running the circuits will be a pain. Also, the wire harness for the steps is sold separately, so you'll need to research that, too.Re: Onan 5500 fuel pump not primingHow old is the fuel pump? Sounds like it may be a bit flaky. An old electric pump can get unreliable after it warms up. When it cools, it starts pumping again. I wouldn't hesitate at all in replacing a 15 year old fuel pump. You can always keep it as a spare if the problem turns out to be something else. At least you'll be traveling with a new fuel pump.
